I've waited and waited for an "official" review of Acer's "ScanWit" 2720s filmscanner. Seems like no-one else can be bothered, so I've gone ahead and done a user review myself. It's on my Website @

Although I have not put my acer through quite as much use as you I agree with your review. I was amazed at the quality for such a low price and you can't expect fancy technology like on the latest Minoltas which manage to remove scratches (a real problem with any slide scanners I guess).

Like you I am also amazed that no magazines have reviewed it yet.

Thanks for your efforts and I would also recommend it to anyone thinking of getting a scanner but put off the high prices of Nikons and Minoltas.
