help choosing pocket-size digital cam

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Hi there,

I'm looking for a very small digital camera as a gift for my sister. I care most about size, and somewhat about (optical) zoom where I'm looking for at least 2x, but preferably 3x.

I've seen reviews of the Canon S-10 and the Fuji MX-1700, and they both look good in their own way.

Can anyone give me his/her opinion on either of these or any other small digital camera in order to help me make a purchase decision?

Thanks a lot,

The S10/nikon 800 are great. Not a lot of manual control or goofy features, but who cares, it takes really great pics and fits in your pocket. If you want big printouts there's always the S20.
