Good news! Is the new field just a big field or a new 'airfield'? Glad you found your way here Fergus!

Today 16/08/00 , Chris Condell flew his two-seat gyroglider at the new field near Athlone. Hopefully this may become a regular venue for gyros in Ireland.

Hi Mel, The field is in the process of becoming an airfield proper, and currently has about 500 metres of good grass runway, which will soon extend to 900 metres. We went down to 'strut our stuff' for the locals and see if they would welcome our company. The vibes seemed good so we'll see how it goes. Athlone is located smack-bang in the centre of Ireland, and so should make a good national venue. I'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, keep up the good work!.

And remember, Nothing succeeds like a gummy budgie.

Regards Fergus.
