nice pix Unk! Love the red hat! LOL

Now I know why I always had a soft spot for ya, Unk. Dalmation! Bingo Jr. is 1/2 dalmation on her (birth) father's side. Gotta love the obsessive-compulsive personality. That be Bingo Jr., not I.

I'd post a phew photos meself but I don't want my soul to be captured. No, the witness protection program forbids it. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Unk:

Great pics. Does photopoint allow resizing? I'm still not proficient at using this scanner that Dennis Olson sent me last year. I can do documents, but the photos always turn out teeny or humongous. What photo format did you use? BMP upon scan, converted to GIF?

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 17, 2000.

Wow Unk, you are human after all....ugly, but human :o) If I knew you didn't have horns, I might not have spammed you so much last year.

(You look better without the hair anyway.)

Just for the record, Unk, I think you're a better looking man than I am a woman. I THINK you know what I mean by that, right?

Just for the record, Unk, I think you're a better looking man than I am a woman. I THINK you know what I mean by that, right?

strange thing to say, but I think you're in with a chance there unk, no only kidding

somehow I imagined you to be a wiry, dark-haired individual god knows why we get these impressions

its the good fresh air healthy outdoor life that does it, looks as if you have real FUN in your life

Unk,

You're just as I had you pictured. Oh how I miss the Florida life. Maybe someday it can be mine once again.

Cheers!

Unk, the pictures are great!! The one of you and the Mrs. is wonderful -- you both look so happy. And that group shot -- looks like you guys had a great time.

Love the dogs (we have two). Are you on the Gulf Coast? I almost moved there but ended up here. Hey, I got the sand and palm trees; just missing the water ;-).

-- Patricia (PatriciaS@lasvegas.com), May 17, 2000.

Seeing the beach pictures reminded me of how much I missed South Florida (Homestead) until I saw the one of the skeeters :o)

Wow! Truly x-rated! (not) 8-) You have some good-looking companions. Maybe some day I'll get to travel to Florida. I'll bet there are lot of ladies who like to lie in the sun down there.

-- (kb8um8@yahoo.com), May 17, 2000.

Some answers.

Anita,

I had my pics scanned at the local PC wiz. They were in jpg format, and MUCH larger than what you see at photopoint. Photopoint re-sizes and converts the pics from any format, if I recall correctly. Check the FAQ at photopoint for better answers. Link

LL,

In the wild bunch I am the one in the skullcap, with psycho Gary on my lap, well, sorta on my lap....he had been drinking and was sliding.

kb8um8,

LOTS of fine gals worship the sun around here, even some single ones ;-)

Oooooops.

Patricia, I am on the east coast, cooler here than the gulf, and better surfing.

UnkleD!

I love the photos. Hope it's ok to tell a married guy he's hot. I especially like the one of you in that cap, woohoo =) Your wife is also lovely and the dogs and the beach, your'e a lucky guy. Thanks for sharin with us.

p.s. Has anyone ever said that you and your wife look like brother and sister? And are you? (just kidding!) =o)

p.s.s...LL you bitch, what a mean thing for you to say.

-- cin (cin@cin.cin), May 17, 2000.

Ozzie and Harriet! Looks like you got skinnier in the "gang" shot.

I can understand why you shave your nuts now, easier to put sunscreen on for the beach. I would never live somewhere with that many skeeters though, especially with shaved nuts.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), May 17, 2000.

Hawk, you are crackin me up lately! LOL

It's easy to look skinny when you are 6'5", hides a lot of pounds ;-)

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), May 17, 2000.

Uncle Deedah,

Where are we all going to post our pics? At the same site that you did? How about we email our pics to you and you put them with yours? Can you do that?

-- Debra (??@??.com), May 17, 2000.

Debra:

My personal vote is that Unk not be involved with OUR stuff. I'd feel like I was giving up a learning experience if I asked Unk to post my stuff...not to mention the ASSOCIATION with Unk, etc. [grin]

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 17, 2000.

Debra, I'm sure you'll find that you can easily post your pictures to a page just like Unc has. Just press the "join now" button. Another one that I use is Homestead.com. It is totally free, no advertising, and as easy as 1-2-3, no html required. Just drag and drop to create your own page design.

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 17, 2000.

Unc-

Thanks for sharing! You are one funny guy (g). (You too, Hawk). Love the pups-what would life be like without the love of animals and friends (not to mention the wife who comes first)? I figured you to be about twenty years older. What a surprise!

-- Aunt Bee (SheriffAndy@Mayberry.com), May 17, 2000.

Unc,

Your friend Gary is a good example of a man who "dresses to the left".

-- Cherri (sams@brigadoon.com), May 17, 2000.

LOLOL Cherri, I noticed that too!

-- cin (cin@cin.cin), May 17, 2000.

Those are very nice pictures. You and your wife make a handsome couple.

-- Maya (Maya@eck.ist), May 17, 2000.

Sure, Cherri.......send everyone to Unk's site again to check on Gary now. I've already been there twice...once to see the original and the second time to check out Unk after he stated who he was in the group picture. Nah...I'm NOT gonna look again.....I'm NOT gonna look again.....I'm NOT gonna look again.

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 17, 2000.

Unc,

I somehow imagined you with a very full beard, much to my surprise you are very clean shaven.

As promised my pix are in the works, gotta scan a couple and do the Photo Point thang, you held up to your end.Nice photo's and yaw'll are a dapper looking couple.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 17, 2000.

Anita,

What software are you using to scan the documents? Do you have photoshop or paint pro? There should be a setting that allows you to set the size in pixels/inches/milimeters,along with dpi.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 17, 2000.

capn:

I dunno. I use the stuff that came with this Mustek scanner. It's SUPPOSED to be supported via a parallel port, but I can't use it if I want to use my printer. I must crawl under my desk, unplug the printer, plug in the scanner, etc. Since I print more than I scan,I tend to leave the scanner out of the loop if I don't have a need.

I spent one afternoon experimenting with the photo options on the software that came with the thing, skinny little manual in hand. That manual is somewhere in this room. [I might could use the psychic hotline on exactly WHERE.]

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 18, 2000.

I scanned a picture last night. After work, tonight, I'm going to try to post it. I think this could be alot of fun.

-- Debra (!!!!@!!!!.com), May 18, 2000.

Debra:

I hope you have more luck than I. I had a picture of my daughters already scanned into .gif format, so E-mailed it in, set up the account, etc. It's still a LOT smaller than Unk's stuff, and each time I try to resize it just sits or takes so long that I lose patience waiting. On to the next test, I tried to E-mail another pic I'd scanned into .bmp format. It's another small picture, but my E- mail system says it's too large to send. I remember copying the .gif of the girls into a .bmp to use as wallpaper, but I'm less secure about copying the .bmp into a .gif.

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 18, 2000.

LOL! Say what?

-- Debra (??@??.com), May 18, 2000.

Unc.

You are fine looking with the hair.....lol.

-- consumer (shh@aol.com), May 18, 2000.

Anita,

Try .jpg with pics and use gifs and bmps for other things,.jpg is the standard.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 18, 2000.

capn, Debra:

I was able to use Microsoft's Photo Editor to convert the bmp to a gif and then mail it to this site. HOWEVER, I can't even log into this site anymore.......meaning that I get to the second P in PhotoPoint and it just sits. It's probably my server. I'll wait until the wee hours of the morning and try again.

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 18, 2000.

I think I got up too early this morning. Later tonight, I'll use Microsoft's Photo Editor to convert the .gifs to .jpg and download them again.

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 18, 2000.

Anita,

Nevr NEVER e-mail a bmp picture unless you want to sit there forever or leave go shopping, then come home and wait some more.

When you attach your photo just give it a name and put in . (dot)jpg to make it go to the jpg format.

Do you clean your cache?, that can help you when you your computer hangs up.

-- Cherri (sams@brigadoon.com), May 18, 2000.

Right now y'all will have to settle for a picture of my girls. I FINALLY got it resized, converted, etc. This is from the summer of 1999 [when I scanned it.] I'll try to get a few more scanned, but this was a LOT of work for a dummy.

First Thing In the Morning

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 18, 2000.

Nice pics, but we've been talking to you. WHERE are you?

-- (W@iting .to see you), May 18, 2000.

Yea Anita! I love it, they look like real happy loving kids. And I can see the Nordic genes in them, reminded me of a Scandinavian girl I had a crush on many many years ago.

Where is the one with their hands at each others throats?

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), May 18, 2000.

Waiting:

This was my first test. I didn't have myself scanned already. Heck...I don't even have a recent picture of myself. I look much like them [only older.] My oldest [the one on the right] has a picture of me where I have those thin braids like Bo Derrick wore in '10'. One of her friends saw it and said, "I like your hair in that braid picture." She said, "What braid picture? That's my MOM!"

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 18, 2000.

Unk:

The hands at the throat stopped when they stopped living together. Since they only get together for visits, this is the way they treat each other.

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 18, 2000.

Beautiful kids, Anita.

Help!!!!

I spent three hours last night trying to get a picture from Adobe to Photopoint. I haven't even considered size yet. Can anyone help?

-- Debra (??@??.com), May 19, 2000.

Anita,

Your girls are beautiful...If you look anything like them, you ain't got nothing to worry about sista!

Capnfun,

You 'party animal'...LOL

And I can't write what I'm thinking 'cause I'm a married woman ;)

-- Peg (not@really.necessary), May 19, 2000.

Debra, which Adobe program are you using? Illustrator? Photoshop? Print Shop? Which??

I don't have time to work on it today, but if you tell me which program you're using, and if I have it, I'll help you with it tomorrow.

-- (Adobe @ programs .are fun), May 19, 2000.

Capn:

Here I search through albums looking for a few without a beer in my hand, and you simply post yours under "Recreation." GREAT pic, BTW.

Debra:

My scanner creates .bmp files. Those files are too large for Photopoint. I've found that if I use Microsoft Photo Editor to resize to a maximum (height or width..whichever is greater than 2000) of 2000 pixels, and then save in .jpg format, they go through to Photopoint with no problem. Once there, I crop the white off the sides. I couldn't get resize to work on Photopoint. Oh...when you E- mail them, put Noresize in the subject line.

I'm done with this exercise now, having added 7 more pictures. Once I got the hang of it, it was as easy as brushing my teeth.

An ita and the goofballs

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 19, 2000.

Great pics everyone! I want to play too! I have been working so hard trying to figure this out. I'm going to try here and if it works I'd like to get together an "album" to share. I just don't know if I can remember what I did!! (OTOH, maybe I didn't do anything!) Here goes ...

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 19, 2000.

Golly, what a bunch of good looking, smart, and interesting people we have on this forum. Both of you ladies are babes.

Now, I wonder if the lifestyles of the smart and beautiful will discouraged Hawk from posting his pic? C'mom Hawky, you big hunk 'o bounty hunter you, step up.

*snicker*

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), May 19, 2000.

Capn:

WHAT picture header? Yeah...we traveled a LOT through 1996 or so. We haven't gone much of anywhere in the past few years. Once I moved my mom to Texas, I guess I feel guilty deserting her for vacations.

Peg:

I'm still an inch taller than my tallest girl. My son's caught up now, though. I wish we had some more respectable pictures to show, but we're not a respectable family. Well, we do have a few refined moments here and there, but no one thinks to take a picture unless someone's laughing so hard that liquid is shooting out their nose or we're baking and a flour fight starts.

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 19, 2000.

Thanks Peg,now it's your turn: )

Anita,

Up at the top of the pics, like where yours says Belize, mine came out yo7,wich is the prefix to my email addy.

Too funny about the "respectable family" and liquid from the nose, that does bring back memories.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 19, 2000.

Anita,

GREAT pics!! You and your family are terrific-looking! You guys look so close, like you just have the greatest time together.

Deb, another great picture! You look so happy sitting there.

This is a great-looking group of folks here.

Uh, my SO tried to take a picture of me this morning as I was leaving for a job interview (which would have been the optimum time to snap one with me actually looking presentable) 'cept he forgot to put the memory card back in the camera (whew! got away with one there). If I had to guess, he's going to take a pic when I least expect it and post it without my knowledge.

So let me apologize in advance for that one.....:-)

Uh, yeah, Peg -- where's yours????? [G]

-- Patricia (PatriciaS@lasvegas.com), May 19, 2000.

(hanging my head once again in shame)

Capn, excellent picture -- same sentiments as Peg wrote above [g]. You're lookin' like you're havin' a great ol' time!! I think we can see where you get your online name.

-- Patricia (PatriciaS@lasvegas.com), May 19, 2000.

Capn:

My ALBUM name has the prefix from the E-mail I used, as does yours. Each individual pic, however, has the title that you gave it [or the title I gave mine.] Wasn't yours something like Pirate Ship?

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 19, 2000.

Patricia,

Yea,I guess I believe in truth in advertising; )Now just stay all gussied up and wait for the SO to get home and take that pic! I'm gonna scan some more soon, this IS a hoot!!!

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 19, 2000.

Anita,

That was the name of the pic,but I still have the yo7 at the top.I guess I'll have to investigate it a little more upon my next posting.Live and learn and forget.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 19, 2000.

Patricia:

If Stephen posts one of you unkempt and unaware [which is my usual pose for pics], I'll throw one of the pics into my album from a glamour studio. Trust me...they'd be equally embarrassing. Those folks curled and teased my hair so high I could hardly get into my car for the trip home. My face had so much makeup that even *I* didn't know who it was. I did like the lipstick, though...really creamy.

-- not again (igiveup@oh.darn), May 19, 2000.

not again,

Log out of photopoint, then go to the main page. You will see a space that says "Visit Albums". Type the Email address that you used to open your account into the box and you will find yourself at your picture site, but it will be the public version so that folks cannot screw with your captions etc. Copy the URL and hot link it.

Be sure not to hotlink your passworded site, as folks might mess with your pics.

If I did not make myself clear, or you have any other questions just ask.

capn fun, you look just like our renter that disappeared, owing us rent, and leaving a filthy apartment. Naww! Your eyes are brown; his were blue. You didn't change your eye color did you? He drank lots of Bud. Aren't those Bud cans??? grin

Well, everyone is so young who's posted pictures here, and so good looking, that I think it's time you guys had a dose of reality. It's time for this creaky, senior citizen to post a photo. Of course, it'll take me so long to figure out how to do it, that I may be 80 before I get one on here. A friend recently gave me perm, as she need someone to practice on, so my hair looks like the Mama in Mama's Family.

Hey, I've really enjoyed the pictures. Unc doesn't look a thing like I imagined. Capn fun is a good looking devil. And Anita looks as young as her daughters. Dang!! How did I end of here with you teeny- boppers. Debra, is pretty as a pup. Hope I saw them all.

-- Peg (not@really.necessary), May 19, 2000.

I'm not sure what happened...I saw the pic at the url that was posted and when I posted the link, it was the page that's coming up now.

Go figure!

-- Peg (pegmcleod@mediaone.net), May 19, 2000.

I'm getting a weird page from both the link and the URL.

Try it again, be sure that you are logged out of the site where you play with captions etc, then go back in through the visitor link.

Keep trying, also, I'm no expert, feel free to Email me if ya need to, I check my mail three or four times a year ;-)

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), May 19, 2000.

Here is a recap of what happened...

ROFLMAO...I did as you said, I copy/paste and put in 1st one.

Then to my SURPRISE, I noticed my dog-gone new email addy appeared.

OH NO

So then I tried to delete the darn thing, could not do it?

In the process, the nice lady did a linky for me.

Thus, posting my email, cuz I didnt know what I was doing in the first place. So now I am STUCK. I dont know how to delete the whole thing and start over or to get rid of the stupid email.

So now I had to change my screen name again. Hmmm, wonder y?...lol

But, at any rate, I would like to know how ya'll got your pics on there w/out your email showing up.

Pics 101 here I come.....Tis good I can laugh at myself at least.

Unc, thanks for the attmpt at helping me, i'll try again, but it says you gotta give real email addy to sign on and how do i then get where you all got.?

Sorry I worked on this almost ALL day...

I have photos of my boys here if anyone want to see them. I don't have a current photo of myself, though all you very attractive folks make me appear rather homely LOL. =o)

-- cin (cin@cin.cin), May 19, 2000.

Go here: Photopoint Home

Go to the third box down, the one that says:

Visit Albums

Username / E-mail: Visit

And type in the Email address that you used to open the account. Do not login in the spot that asks for your password.

When the page opens it should look like the ones that you have seen for everybody else, not the one that lets you make captions or move photos around etc. If you end up at the page that lets you change captions etc hit the log out button, and then follow the above instructions. If you do not know how to hotlink just copy the URL and paste it here, I'll hotlink it for ya.

Hope this helps.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), May 19, 2000.

"toasted", I caught a glimpse of the picture before it disappeared -- you are adorable!

Uh, cin, how old is the red one jumping up and down in the middle? He's cute ;-)

The boys are very handsome.....and like Anita's family, they look like they have a great time together. You're very lucky!!

Patricia,

You mean this guy?

Just kidding, cin, your boys are adorable :)

-- Peg (pegmcleod@mediaone.net), May 19, 2000.

Grrrrrrr.......I hate it when that happens......I'm not doing very well tonight...and it's making me....PARINOID!!!...LOL

-- Peg (pegmcleod@mediaone.net), May 19, 2000.

Consumer:

I don't think there IS a way that your pictures won't show the high- order portion of your E-mail address. Unk's does, Capn's does, and so does mine. Just because mine and Capn's don't look like the E- mail address we use HERE, doesn't mean it isn't an E-mail address we use ELSEWHERE.

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 19, 2000.

Cin:

Great looking boys; How old were you when you had that older one...the one with the little blonde boy and the birthday cake?

I so envy folks who were capable of reproducing with a variation on a theme. My oldest brother [average looking guy] has three glamorously beautiful daughters and they all look DIFFERENT, and always DID. When my second daughter was born I wanted to send her back. I said, "I had this baby the last time." When I brought her home, all the neighbors could say was, "Do you clone them?" I was grateful when my son was born with a big nose. FINALLY something different. Of course the girls' noses grew larger, and his never did, so now he's the one with the SMALLEST nose. Genetics are surely strange.

Patricia: You give the impression that you had siblings who taunt you to this day. My sibs and I were never close, but I think our age differences played a role.

I was only 18 when I gave birth to my eldest, Christian, who is 15. Matthew came some years later. You know, I do get lucky every 11 years or so. LOL. Just kidding (sorta).

The age difference, I think, has been a Godsend. They get along great, and adore each other, aside from an occasional fight. =)

He was doing his homework, that's a pencil in his hand. I just had to get a photo of such a rare occurence. LOL

Our girl Consumer

Great picture, consumer. Now that you've got an album started, you can add more. I want to see some ACTION shots. You know...the kind where the wind blew your hair all over and you couldn't stop laughing.

Cin: Does this mean only one of the boys in the beachboy shot is yours?

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 20, 2000.

Anita, I'm trying to understand what you mean. That is Chris(tian). They are both mine. There is only Chris and Matthew on that page (and elmo). =)

-- cin (cin@cin.cin), May 20, 2000.

Yeah, action shots, more action shots!! Hee hee, like hot tub action shots!

*snickerin again*

It took a long time to load for me, Cin, so I'm relying on memory. I thought the first picture had a very little blonde boy under the sand and a somewhat older brunette boy beside him. The very little blonde boy looked about the same age in the birthday photo. I think what you're saying is that Chris WAS the somewhat older brunette boy beside Matthew in the "beachboy" picture.

Do I have it straight now? Did Chris start out being that blonde as well? I ask because my neighbor had one blonde girl and the next one was born with black hair. My brother had one blonde, one strawberry blonde, and one brunette. I had all blondes, but my son's hair turned brown when he was about 10, and the girls and I started down the mousy blonde path when we were about 14, although time in the sun will lighten our hair in a heartbeat, while it does nothing to my son's hair. As I said, genetics are strange.

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 20, 2000.

Thanks for reminding me Anita.

I started out that blond too cin, and now I'm bald! Hee hee, mebbe I'll get a pic made of me sans hair, or, you could just go to Mr Clean.com and get the same effect.

PS, he looks a LOT like my nephew, the one who named me Deedah. Handsome kids.

Sumer!!! looks like you had a tough time of it with the pics, maybe it helps having beverages while doing these sorts of things[BIG g],did me; )

Great pic hon, glad you were persistent. What's this about hot tub pics? Did I miss something? hehehe.

Just a thought:

Seein' as how this thread is getting soooo long, should we set up a series of "Pics" threads 1,2,3,4etc... changed after 50? posts to the next thread.

Just had this funny picture in my mind: )

All of us get together in Vegas,we socialize in real life, talking about ourselves and whatnots, then go to our rooms on an internet connection to make our responses.Hell, just a group of us in one place posting in real time to everyone else here on the board would be a hoot.

Let's do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody good at event planning?

I'm only good at party planning: )

Co nsumer's Family

Consumer:

Ya need to go back in and change the captions on the pictures. For instance, I know the one that's titled "Me" isn't "You", but WHO is it?

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 20, 2000.

Thank you Capn! =)

Anita, Chris was born a strawberry blonde. It has darkened some, but is always blonde after a summer at the beach. In that photo, I think it's the lighting that makes it look darker than it really is. And of course next to Matthew, who is a natural toe-head, everyone's hair looks darker. =)

-- cin (cin@cin.cin), May 20, 2000.

Anita: I got that thing all goofed up.

The one on the boat is hubby, the one w/me and the blondes, those are my sisters, the one on the sofa is my suffering son.(lol.)..was 16 on Monday w/my niece from California. Still to post my grandson and my other two sons.

Once i figure out how...lol.

Dont wanna show your pics to my sons!!! your daughters are very pretty.

My we are a GREAT looking bunch arent we? Imagine us all in one place. What fun...
