The Grim Reaper...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Squishy : One Thread

I nabbed this from Amazing Journey: It'll guess your age. 's pretty nifty, I think.

The Grim Reaper.

It got mine right. Well, a few months off - I'm 20, it guessed 19, but still. Cool. Did it guess yours?

(Hopefully I haven't forgotten my HTML.)

Answers

It thought I was 29, and I'm only 25.

I guess my prematurely grey hairs are e-transferable.

It thought I was 31 and I'm 35. Youth points for tree climbing and having homework. Age points for tea and vanilla ice cream. And what the hell are Speed Armstrong and Fluevog, not to mention Rock et Robin Hood?

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

Stretch Armstrong is a bendable toy thingy....

I'm so mature, it guessed 31 and I'm 23....

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

It put me at 42, and I'm 40. Not too far off.

Looking at the breakdown was different, to say the least. Evidently, because I am very familiar with Kilroy, I should be 50 (I'm a history buff with a special interest in WWII, actually). But because I have zits sometimes, I should be 30. I *wish* zits went away as you age - I think whoever wrote this test may be in for a shock in a few years!

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

It said I was 29 and I am only 15! I think because I put casserole down as my favorite food they kind of add 10 years. I also put down all the "old" people answers. So what if the word I recognize most is Kilroy. So sue me. hehe

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

It put me at 24 and I just turned 25 so very accurate. Pretty interesting thanks for posting this.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

What the hell?!?!?!?!?! The Grim Reaper thinks I'm 20!!! I'm 14! What the hell?!?!?!?!?!

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

That page won't load!

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

It thought I was 20 and I'm 25. I think I got youth points for hopping and I think about sex. Otherwise, I was old on all of the questions.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

it thinks i'm 31

i'm only 23

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

It guessed 25 and I'm 30. I do appreciate that though. What's scary is I didn't realize Pamie's page (or this forum) had 14 and 15 year old kids reading it. Gah! I'll have to control my input from now on.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

Not bad-- I'm 24 and it guessed 20. But I'm WAY immature (Am so! Are not!)

And Rocket Robin Hood was a really bad cartoon from the 70s.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

*sob*

i'm only 27.

it deemed me 31!

*waaaail*

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

I'm 22, and it guessed 21. That was pretty cool.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

well it had me pegged all right. it guessed i was 27 and i will be 27 this october. right on.

It said I'm 29, and I'm 26. Not *too* bad.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

I didn't think my answers were that telling, but the grim reaper is pretty good, he got my age right!

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

Its okay. You don't have to watch your input just for me. Im 15. So what.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

I thought I was 27 but it turns out that I'm 18.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

It said I was 25. I'm 34. Still young at heart, I suppose.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

It guess 20 and I'll be 29 in August (I keep rechecking the math, that just doesn't seem right).

I thought it would come out much older because I answered 18 years ago for the tree question, since I can't recall every climbing one. I forgot to mention my fear of heights in the other thread. You'd think the Spandau Ballet question would make me at least 28, since I was 11 when "True" came out and was probably a bit young for Spandau, but anyway.

I guess "sex," having hopped recently and liking clothes helped bring it down.

What is "Fluevog?" she asks, feeling like a fuddy duddy.

-- Anonymous, May 17, 2000

it guessed I was 20 and I'm 19, sooo I guess it was very very close! I think it was the fact that I said investing interested me most ...well, err, I'm into the stock market!! I was about to say salad but realised it didn't interest me that much in daily eating habits.

ah well. that was fun. I'll log it on my weblog tonight so others can take it.

-- Anonymous, May 18, 2000

I, also, wonder about this "Fluevog." Not enough to actually look it up, alas. ;)

-- Anonymous, May 18, 2000

Not too bad. It guessed 51. I turn 57 in a couple weeks.

-- Anonymous, May 18, 2000

oi! i'll be 25 next week, and he seems to think i'm 33... is this a good or a bad thing?

-- Anonymous, May 18, 2000

I'm 19, it guessed 23. And I've hopped and climbed a tree w/in the last year ;)

-- Anonymous, May 19, 2000

i can't believe nobody knows what fluevogs are! fluevog is the last name of a shoe designer; fluevogs are the shoes he designs. maybe they were only really cool in seattle, i don't know. i thought everyone knew what they were.

btw, i took this test a while ago and it got my age right.

-- Anonymous, May 19, 2000

Well it guessed 25 and I'm 25.. I'm so transparent!

WWW.fluevog.com - these are fun little shoes that cost at least 125 bucks a pop. I went to a store in SF and have been thinking of buying a pair ever since..

-- Anonymous, May 19, 2000

It guessed 38. I'm 35, but not for much longer, so it's only two years off the mark.

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

He thinks I'm 23. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

I'm 13 and it said I'm 18. many people online think I'm 18 :D

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

It guessed my age exactly right! I gasped out loud!

"The grim Reaper will get you early if you lie." -- Oh, sure! Tell me that at the END of the questionnaire!!

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

I'm 26, it thought 34.

I hate that %$(#($ grim reaper, thinks he's a big shot just because he has a cape and sickle.

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

it said 54. i'm 55.

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

I'm 25 and he thought I was 18, which makes no sense because most of my answers came out betwixt the 30 and 50 range. Ah well. I ain't a math major.

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

Hmm. It thought I was 32, and I'm only 28. Maybe I should have put that cartoons were on my mind after all... :-)

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

I'm 18 and it claims I'm 23. Who am I to argue with the Grim Reaper?

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

I thought Fluevog was some kind of squishy, gooey toy.

It guessed that I was 32. Pretty close, since I'm 34. However, I will continue to cling to a conversation I had with a co-worker last month:

Me: I'll be 34 at the end of April.

Her: No way!

Me: Honest. See my gray hairs? (I point them out)

Her: You're lying!

Me: I'm not. Want to see my driver's license?

Her: Yes, because there's no way you're in your 30's. (I hand her my license) Oh my G-d! I thought you were 25 or 26!

I love that woman.

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

The little devil was pretty close. I'm 27 (just turned it 2 weeks ago) and it guessed 26. =)

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

It guessed 51 for me... I turned 57 toward the end of April, so I guess that't pretty close on a percentage basis. I do wonder about some of the questions, like ones that only have two test ages, etc. Also, some of you complained that you were teenagers and it guessed your age wrong... but it doesn't have any answers tagged to anything younger than twenty or older than sixty, so it could never correctly identify a teenager or an actual senior citizen type. Very interesting site.

According to the Grim Reaper, I can drink legally. Think he could tell the bouncers that? (I am 20, it said I was 22).

-- Anonymous, May 22, 2000

26? not quite...i'm 19

-- Anonymous, May 23, 2000

It said I'm 24... I'm 22. I didn't realize that I'm supposed to be thinking about budgets whan I'm really thinking about vacations!

-- Anonymous, May 23, 2000

it said 24. i'm 17.

-- Anonymous, May 23, 2000

the reap got me bang on...21. freaky.

-- Anonymous, May 23, 2000

it thought I was 19.. I'm 15.

-- Anonymous, May 23, 2000

Not bad. I'm 19 and it pegged me as 21.

-- Anonymous, May 24, 2000

It said 18, close I'm 19. And who or what is Stretch Armstrong?

-- Anonymous, May 26, 2000

yippie! it calculated me at 18 and i am almost 25! must be because i live like a teenager, except for the living with parents part.

fluvogs are cool shoes.

-- Anonymous, May 26, 2000

To those who asked: Stretch Armstrong was a plastic doll made in the 70s by one of the big toy companies (Kenner or Mattel or Hasbro or someone; probably Kenner). He had elastic limbs that could be elongated to great distances. (At least, this is the Stretch Armstrong I recall; has the term come to mean something else now and I'm just not hip enough to know?)

-- Anonymous, May 26, 2000

Did they remake Stretch Armstrong sometime in the 90's?
I remember my brother begging for one and he wasn't born until 1985.

-- Anonymous, May 26, 2000

It guessed I was 36, I am MMmmMM40MMMmmM. how the hell did I get to be 40. All I know is that I AM NOT as old at 40 as my parents were at 40 Dam it.

I think I received a very good score on Grim because I climb trees and Hop, They must not have kids.

-- Anonymous, May 28, 2000

It thought I was 22 and I'm 16. Cooooool.

-- Anonymous, May 28, 2000

God, I'm 35 and it guessed 19! Am I that immature?

-- Anonymous, May 28, 2000

I was rather impressed. It guessed I was 18 and even though I am nearly 20 it is still pretty close. And here I thought I had picked all the old people answers ;)

-- Anonymous, May 29, 2000

Alright, I'll weigh in here too. It guessed that I was 36 and I'm 27. :)

Wow, I feel special. The Grim Reaper was right on target... I'm 18. Although, I thought the fact that I like gum and that I have both climbed a tree and hopped within the last year would make me younger, but oh well. This guy knows his shit.

-- Anonymous, May 31, 2000

The Grim Reaper surprised me. It guessed I was 31. I'm 42. Clearly, even a computer program can nail the extent of my arrested development.

-- Anonymous, June 02, 2000

It said I was 25 and I'm 14.

Then again, people have mistaken me for my mother. (And she's 36.)

Sucks to be me.
