How do we spot lurkers ? (Buff ?)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Within a few minutes of me suggesting to Buff that we code our entries to each other on the RTG board, and me making my first effort, someone on there was saying I was a Geordie. Clearly there are Sunderland fans who come in here and read what we say, who let them in ?!!

I think the answer lies in answer number 2 .. its a well known fact there's more makkums in washington than Geordies , bliddy infiltrators ; -)

The worrying thing is that we are only one lurker's big gob away from this lovely site being ruined by the great unwashed. I have to say, I don't know how you can bear going onto other chatsites. It's too stressful. However, if anyone fancies going on the Redissue site and putting right the w....r in the "Geordie Bitter" thread who says the Toon is like Manchester in 1850 (by which he no doubt means you can walk around without avoiding snipers), please, please do so.

After some of the coments in a certain toffee fanzine I fancy a trip to the Everton site ;o)

Talk about sour grapes!

Sting,
You might be surprised how many mags live in Washington. And it was the poxy makkems(ptuh) who did the infiltrating. We were quite happy as we were, a charming little pit village half way between the toon and the a*sehole of the world.

Howway Gav, back us up at least on this.

Bill,

Don't get upset by it man....he doesn't mean it!! he's just trying to jibe me :)) anyway....Sting's mother is from Washington ;))

And as we both KNOW it's patently not true...50-50 or maybe even 60-40 to the shits in red but still more than enough mags to go round....

It wasn't me, but someone posted the password for this board on the Strawberry Board a few weeks back.....until that time I didn't realise we all used the same one.....there are a lot of Mackems from the RTG that get onto the Strawberry (like that little tw@t Krist) so they probably lifted it over to the RTG......

Duncan.....can you monitor the likes of those and then block their IP address?

Keep them out, we don't want their bile and foul language in these parts do we?

Gav, could be worse some of us were brought up in Penshaw, running the gauntlett thru the subways in Shiney on a Saturday night post match was always good fun ......

-- Anonymous, May 18, 2000

Penshaw eh Muzz?

I know it fairly well......do you remember the naughty boys home at the top of the roundabout?

-- Anonymous, May 18, 2000

And the ghandi bikes in Penshaw Park.

And getting the train to the Big Meeting from Penshaw station.

-- Anonymous, May 18, 2000

certainly do, I could see it from me bedroom and me mutha often threatened to send me there. Used to get the bus to school reet ootside there before they put the roundabout in. Spend any time in there ??

Duncan,

If ITK is correct and the password has been posted on the RTG site would it not be sensible to change it before we get the FLWT's (4-letter word terrorists) invading out intellectual cyberspace?

I've no idea how much effort is required, but would it not be good discipline to change it say every 3months?

-- Anonymous, May 18, 2000

Muzz....yup :((

-- Anonymous, May 19, 2000

CLARKY

With any luck that infiltration from RTG will not happen. It is a few weeks snce it appeared and their messages disaapear altogether after a couple of days.

Beyond that......they are so thick that half of them have to go onto the RTG to ask for the URL for the Strawberry to try and do a wind up, so if they can't remember that one....which is in fact linked directly from the RTG if only they read their screen, I would believ that we are reasonably safe.....

but lets not get complecent(sp).
