I just got the sony dsc-f505. Fantastic camera. I dont understand how sony could have gone so incredibley wrong with the software. This is possibley the worst designed software i have used. How do i save a mpeg? Also i cant get the computer to recognize the usb. I mean it recognizes it but the software will not d/l potos off of it, only serial. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Chris - I had the same frustration when I bought my 505....I dont use the software that came with it....I simply plug-in the USB cable between your camera and your computer, then click on "my computer". You will see a new icon called "removable drive" or some new icon....click on that and it will open your files from the Sony....good luck....Mark (if you would like, I bought a Sony adaptor that holds the memory-stick then fits in your 3 1/2 drive; I never use it and would like to sell it.......)

The software is straightforward and works well on win 98 and mac OS 9.

The drivers will never work with win 95, even though you can get win 95 to work with some other usb things... I'm guessing this is your problem.
