Nope....

He's not good enough....

He hasn't got the pace for the premiership. Though I do rate the lad and he will play well. Good squad player

It's a gamble, but at the right price...he would certainly have the motivation, and he's a more mature player than when he left us. Haven't seen enough of his Fulham performances to judge really though..

Not in favour at 3 mill. 1 or thereabouts, maybe. From one point of view, that 3 mill could be used to up a 7 million bid to 10 if necessary.

Be glad to have him back. A mate is a regular at Fulham and reckons Clarky is the best passer of the ball in the first division by a country mile. Apparently he's worked pretty hard on his two-footedness. Lack of pace could be a problem depending on what we want him to do. However, he tackles well, his distribution is good, and he bleeds black and white. Step up YBR to make him a better player. Pay 2mil for him.

Swap Maric for him, forget the money..any deal that gets rid of him is a good one. I would take Clarkey back, at least his heart would be in it!

He was Sunderlands best player. and they finnished 7th without him so Yes he is good enough to play in the premier league for us.

In the type of role we need him for his speed can be improved. He needs pace over the first 10-15 meters in order to chase and hassle the player in question out of position. Batty was not quick, nor is Rob Lee. Ball winners with good engines. Players willing to get booked for making the sacrifice. Buy him and give them maric

He is class & has a quick brain to slot through the early ball. Bobby Lee may not be as effective as age catches up and coupled with a pacey attacking midfielder we may have the making of a side.

Bobby Robson wants to bring Lee Clark back to Newcastle for the cut- price fee of #2m. According to the Sun, Robson is willing to offer Fulham French defender Laurent Charvet in part-exchange. Manchester City are also watching developments.

A good way of getting rid of Charvet, he must be surplus to requirements now.

Please, say it ain't so!

Charvet was a useful player in the olden days when he was fit. Obviously struggle to get back in at right wingback ahead of Bartinho and Griffin now so I agree entirely that he's surplus to requirements. Poor sod took loads of flak for poor performances when played out of position at centre half and didn't receive the credit he deserved for some exemplary play when in his preferred role.

I'd sooner swap a wage-earning supporting player in a position we have cover in for a player who will provide good cover where we currently have none. On that level, it makes sense...but since it's in the Sun, is unlikely to be true anyway.

On team sheet 52 times last season

9 goals

2 yellows

1 red

Never mind aboot Clarkie, just give them Maric.

Having argued against bringing Clarky back home, I have to admit that if we could get him by exchanging him for one/two/three/even four of the "halt, sick and the lame" then I'd be very much in favour.
He'd be a good squad player, with the right attitude, and who would bleed b&w for the cause - we need a few more of that particular variety.

If Clarky did return he would join the ever growing legion of Toon players who it seems would gladly 'sing their heart out for the lads'. One look at the Andy Griffin interview on the Official Site makes me think he is a true grit and determination player along with Barton, Lee, Shearer, Speed (yes Speed, apparently he has played a large number of games with minor injuries), Dabizas to name a few.

Our core of the team seems to be more British and this coupled with a smattering of the right foreigners will prove to be successful.

Anticipation for the new season is heightened despite no true transfer rumours as yet!!
