Hello everyone....i am working on a report right now dealing with Edgar allan Poe and i have created a thesis statement and i am trying to get proof towards it. Here is my thesis (Poe wrote "Annabel Lee" and "To Helen" showing life how it truly was not for himself by writing romantic and unrealistic poems.

I have to disagree with your thesis statement. In fact, I don't believe that Poe wrote his unrealistic and romantic poems because his life lacked these things. I think Poe was a creative and imaginary genious. And in fact, he did have a romantic life, he was married to his cousin, who although was somewhat slow, he loved dearly. He wrote many a poem for her. In fact, I think i read somwhere that Annabelle Lee was written for her after her death. How their love was portrayed the poem, was how deeply Poe felt their love to be, and when the angels were jealous, because of their perfect love, they sat there "chilling and killing my Annabelle Lee."
