Box Hill...........

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Thanks for the info lads - very much appreciated. I thought that Box Hill was probably a bit of a Cockney exiles club. Isn't there a Box Hill in London? I started to follow them when I was very young though and didn't know that at the time.

If any of you just happen to come across anything else I "need to know" I'll be glad of the extra info.

By the way, doesn't anyone else have a fav Australian team?

Probably the top team in Sydney - if not the whole of Oz - are called Zetland. You won't see them on any pools panel listings however SMB as the players remain true to the amateur ethos and steadfastly refuse to accept payment for playing. There's one player in particular who YBR could do well to take on trial. Tall, fair-haired and very flexible, he alternates between his favoured right side of midfield and anywhere in the backline, as needed. Two-footed, pacy, not afraid to push forward or get back and defend. He scored a peach of a goal in the league yesterday though it was disallowed for an earlier infringement by a team mate. Word around the traps is that he would consider any reasonable offer to play in the UK. Who's got Bobby's ear then ?

I don't think YBR would be interested. He sounds too much like the shower he is already trying to get rid of.

Tre might be able to put in a good word though. :o]

Sounds like a yellow for kicking the ball away ;-)

SMB I was travelling into Melbourne on Sun lunchtime to meet a mate in the City when the train passed thro "Box Hill" station.

I got chatting to a bloke who got on there and found out that Box hill Fc still exist although they have dropped down a few divisions.

Theyre now owned by Italians and are called Box Hill Inter and play in the famous Inter colors.

Hope this answers your question.
