Sumer,

No,she will not be attending with me at the bar for the simulcast; )

She gave birth to captain of fun,she did not serve as a role model, except for the attitude, well ok, maybe justa little.

Sumer,

I never took it badly, thought nothing of it except it was funny. No worries.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), May 14, 2000.

consumer,

Thank you. And Happy Mother's Day to you and all the other moms out there as well.

Well, my boys brought me breakfast in bed for starters -- of course a great start! I'd been up earlier (I'm a very early riser), but they told me to get back in bed...

And yesterday, I'd taken them (ages 14 and 16) to a store they picked out and I waited outside. It turned out that they got me one of those Precious Moments figurines...where she's on a computer! :)

Does anybody by chance have the lyrics to the song "I.O.U." by Jimmy Dean from the 70's? Always liked that one, but haven't been able to find it.

-- Hawk (flyin@hi.again), May 14, 2000.

There's actually a Precious Moments figurine with a girl at a computer? I hate to think I'll have something ELSE to dust someday.

Hawk:

I think the best Mother's Day song is the one written by BabyFace and done by Boys II Men. It's on their "Evolution" CD, but the single CD's are/were available. It's entitled "Song for Mama."

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 14, 2000.

Capnfun,

I'll adopt you, so you can be my son. (That is if you buy me a sewing machine that my PC can plug into!!!!) :)

Happy Mothers Day Everyone!

If you can't hug her, at least call her and tell her you love her.

Yeah, Anita -- (I love those things, btw) I mean I think I stared at it with my mouth open for several long seconds in a state of semi- disbelief. It sure was different from the ones I was used to seeing! And it's a really cute one, too; so, yep...better make some more room on yer shelf...

Here are the lyrics to the song I love so much for these occasions:

A Song for Mama

By Boyz II Men

You taught me everything And everything you've given me I always keep it inside You're the driving force in my life, yeah

There isn't anything Or anyone that I can be And it just wouldn't feel right If I didn't have you by my side

You were there for me to love and care for me When skies were grey Whenever I was down You were always there to comfort me And no one else can be what you have been to me You will always be, you will always be the girl In my life for all times

Mama, mama you know I love you Oh you know I love you Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart Your love is like Tears from the stars Mama, I just want you to know Lovin' you is like food to my soul

You're always down for me Have always been around for me Even when I was bad You showed me right from my wrong Yes you did

And you took up for me When everyone was downin' me You always did understand You gave me strength to go on

There was so many times Looking back when I was afraid And then you come to me And say to me I can face anything And no one else can do What you have done for me You'll always be You will always be the girl in my life

Mama, mama you know I love you Oh you know I love you Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart Your love is like Tears from the stars Mama, I just want you to know Lovin' you is like food to my soul

Never gonna go a day without my you Fills me up just thinking about you Never gonna go a day without my mama

Mama, mama you know I love you Oh you know I love you Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart Your love is like Tears from the stars Mama, I just want you to know Lovin' you is like food to my soul

Lovin' you is like food to my soul Ohhh yeah yeah You're like food to my soul Yes you are...

Eve: cool gift, where did they git it? I bought my grandson, before he was born, thinking maybe a girl? smile...But i started him a collection.

I love those.

Anita: Brought tears to my eyes. My mom is gone, how I miss her.

Greatest Mom song I ever heard was from a Christian Singer entitled:

Thank God For Momma,

His mom had died I believe it is Kirk Franklin.

-- consumer (shh@aol.com), May 14, 2000.

"My mom is gone, how I miss her."

Consumer, thank you so much for putting my day in perspective. I brought my mom here for dinner today, and before we even got here she'd said "I don't eat much. I don't have the appetite." 15 times in a 20 minute drive. By the end of dinner she was up to 32 times.

After dinner, I put "Fried Green Tomatoes" in the VCR. She seemed to enjoy it and it gave me a mental break. I'm going to work on my patience.

-- Anita (Anita_S3@hotmail.com), May 14, 2000.

Anita: LOL...I do have a mom-in law who is FAR worse, she'd of said that 40 times. After I literally SHOVED my husband out the door to get her flowers and a card, he came home.

Me: Well, hon, how did she like the flowers?

Hubby: Mom said "they're just gonna die"

I have bent over backwards to get them closer but to no avail. He has this love/hate thing going on with her...its so sad.

His brother is the same way, and she cant figure it out. There have been times I wanted to do some ---well you can imagine what i thought of regarding her.

but I tell my hubby "When you lose your mom, you lose your best friend", so I was told, so I believe.

....As I whisper, Happy Mothers Day Mom, I Love You.

-- consumer (shh@aol.com), May 14, 2000.

I miss my mom too =*(

But I do have 2 gorgeous boys to be thankful for, and I am. My 4 year old made me the most beautiful Mother's Day card, with his little hand print on it. I'll cherish it forever =o)

-- cin (cin@cin.cin), May 15, 2000.

Anita, thanks for sharing those beautiful lyrics. It affected me in ways that are hard to describe (my mom passed away last month).

consumer and cin, I'm sorry that your moms weren't around to share this Mother's Day with you.

consumer, they bought the figurine at a gift shop in Ann Arbor, Michigan. If you're in that area, e-mail me or let me know in a post, and I'll give you specifics; but I know there must be retail outlets all over the counry for these things. Maybe you could contact the company -- Enesco. Their website is www.enesco.com.; if you can't get it directly, they should be able to give you info on retailers in your area. And the name of the figurine is "lovingcaringsharing.com". Good luck.
