life imitates squishy

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Squishy : One Thread

i was reading through my favourite squishy archives this morning, and the one that had me laughing most was the one where eric squirts pamie in the eye with a lemon. then i went out for lunch, and lo and behold, managed to squirt lemon juice in my *own* eye. then had to explain to the person i was with just why i found it so hysterically amusing.

does anyone else have any instances of life imitating squishy? what makes you like pamie?

Well, aside from name/Austin/web dev, there's that whole Pam*-fall-down-go-boom thing.

i always seem to get sick and read later that pamie was snifflin and suffering at the same time

weird stuff, but minor...

Hmmm.. let's see -- my birthdate falls exactly one day after pamie's.... My CD collection closely mirrors hers (radiohead, bjxrk, Destiny's Child) and I always find myself nodding my head at her entries because she always seems to have watched the same TV shows (Sopranos) or watched the same movie (Blair Witch) that I just saw. And she says all the things that I wish I had the creativity and humor skillz to say about:
Austin
allergies
my cat's strange behavior
comedy and/or sketch and/or theater
awards shows
nose hairs
being a woman (or scratch that last one)

I keep telling her, it must be an Aries thing...

I was just lamenting on how I got a HORRIBLE cold this weekend, and I read pamie's entry, and she's also sick... and I was thinking as I was reading the entry "I should post this in that forum I read this morning" but Liz beat me to it :)

windy :)

Here's a somewhat dorky response that doesn't really have to do with the topic and yet, it does.

I was sent a link to an article today that turned out to be in the Statesman and was written by Omar. When I hit the byline, I thought 'Cool! I know this guy!' - which was promptly followed by, 'No you don't, dork. You've seen him write things and sign his name on a webpage, which is exactly what you're seeing now. Just not on Pamie's site.'

Welcome to the geeky small world of the web.

"Dude, I know that guy! Well, 'know' being a subjective term. We've looked at the same webpage before. So, umm. yeah."

The weird encounters with strangers. Happens to me all the time. Pamie seems to have a similar outlook to mine about the surreal things that happen in everyday life.

well I can say I relate to most of the entries but nothing bigtime that I say, "that's exactly what pamie would do!!" but I have started using the 'my science is too tight' comment in conversation sometimes if that counts.

the guest [what I call the guy who comes and visits mom from austin monthly] did go to see monks night out last weekend and said he asked if pamie had been around but she hadn't. that was funny that he asked since I just mentioned this site once to him.

Yesterday sittin on the couch watching a movie with my husband (who I THOUGHT I knew) and his good buddy bri I got a bigtime Pamie flashback. It was a "cleavage flik" for lack of any acting merit. I am sittin there assuming we are all sizing up these "ladies" by the same standard when my hubby says "Man, her forehead is wayyy to big." Bri instantly agrees! Its true Pamie.. men DO judge the forehead too! Egads... sick.. just sick.

So, the past few days I read about Pamie getting sick. Then Stee. Then Beth. And today, I'm sneezing and sniffling like a fiend. I must have gone through a quarter box of kleenex before I had the brains to go get some of the cold/sinus meds from the break room first aid cabinet. That worked to stop the sinus drainage, but then I got to battle the drowsiness side-effect.

But, I don't think I have a cold; it's just my damn allergies. (I should get my stupid Claritin prescription filled.)

I seem to always get sick at the same time as Pamie. Mind you, I get colds for three months at a time, so there's a good chance I'm sick at the same time as everybody.
