Dick Morris visits OZ - Dick who?????

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

I just finished reading this article;

Link

It's about Australian politics, lahdidah lulu stuff...., but very interesting...for OZ types...

It mentions Dick Morris. Who is he?

--------clip " This process has already been dubbed the Fifth Estate by American political strategist Dick Morris, who for years was a key adviser to President Bill Clinton. Morris has written a slim but interesting book, Vote.com, which argues the Internet will do away with participatory democracy in favour of direct democracy: "The Fifth Estate is a sort of committee of the whole, made up of citizens online ... the triumph of people's politics over the power of intermediaries, particularly the power of the press and broadcast media, who make up the Fourth Estate."

Sounds too good to be true. Also sounds scary. But the emerging technologies already make possible new forms of community building, alliance formation, citizen participation, electoral feedback and even voting. And yes, they also enable new forms of branch-stacking, issue-hijacking, propaganda, hate speech and election fraud. But politics has always been both ugly and glorious. The Westminster system has managed to survive and evolve and prosper for more than three centuries. It might even survive Internet democracy. "

---------snip

Who is Dick Morris? He's suddenly popping up all over the joint & I wonder if anyone on the forum can give us a glimpse of what/whom we're dealing with down here.

Regards from OZ

Yo Carlos,
I figured he's shady. Please take him back. We're quite all right and able to effect our own damnation....no need to send Dick to help...

Understand Bro. Would start checking passports for a guy named James Carville. He'll eat you out of crabcakes and leave you with election returns you'll hate us for.

He's a polster who used to work for Clinton. A few years back he was freqyuenting a prostitute and would call clinton and let her listen in on the call. Wife found out split up wrote a book got back together now consults on Fox TV.

Dick Morris = Hillary in drag

Dick Morris was a pollster who worked for both Republicans and Clinton. He was generally credited (or blamed) with pulling Clinton towards the center, and making the Clinton presidency poll-driven, to the extent that Clinton based his vacation plans on what polled the highest numbers.

But then a prostitute that he hired called in the media and exposed the fact that he had installed her at his Washington hotel, where she occasionally listened in on official phone calls. She also revealed his love of toe-sucking. He resigned from the Clinton campaign with words about "yellow journalism", and his wife divorced him. You would have thought he would have never lived it down, but you would have thought wrong.
