It is incredible to look back and see the (sometimes factual, often personal) arguments flung at Flint. He did not waver. I think I need to read a good book on how to remain focused in the presence of overwhelming peer pressure.

Looks like a lot of idiocy from OutingsR (Old Git) and Ray...neither of whom post here. Keep resurrecting these dead carcasses to kick around, though. It is great weekend entertainment. As someone who was neither "polly" or "doomer", I found all the Y2K fora extremists (I include you) amusing. For my money, Flint had the most balanced view of the Polly/Doomer Obssessives (PDO's). On the thread you have linked here, Flint made some rather pointed observations in this regard. Following:

It isn't "us" and "them". We're all just people expressing our opinions. I sampled those other fora for a while [ed: referring to Debunkers and Biffy], and found them restrictive, their inhabitants deaf. If they've decided (I think they have) that their goal is to stifle debate so they can all pat themselves on the back, OK, they're welcome to it.
