With evil software markdown racks.

Went to this store only intending to peruse their evil book markdown bins, but found myself drawn to the evil software markdown racks. Buried in amongst the junky software titles that are marked down because they're junk was a used copy of FIFA 2000. I've resisted buying the FIFA games for 2yrs, but now with a bit of time on my hands and a cheap price ($25), I could resist no longer.

Couldn't be bothered reading the instructions, so went for an exhibition game between NUFC and the chimps. We had 65% of the possession but lost 1-0. Shay did a brilliant job stopping shots, but his throwing is even worse than the real Shay's kicking! Kept throwing it out of touch while under no pressure. There wasn't a player in sight actually! At one point, Barton looked ready to have a word or two!

I guess I should at least look at the instructions enough to figure out how to control the players. ;-)

How are the graphics? Does Barton look like Barton or do you know him from his number?

From CNN, Sony just announced PlayStation2 (PS2!!! I've got to tell Screacher about this trademark violation!). $299 for the North American model which includes a DVD player. Here's a quote from their president:

"The PlayStation2 will not be the future of video game entertainment. It will be the future of entertainment, period."

Pete, It doesn't have a slash does it? And what about the operating system - it's not Official Sony/2 is it?

the graphics aren't the best in terms of details like players faces, though there are very few closeups anyway. Numbers are barely readable. That aspect is a bit of a nuisance especially when they're running around. Could only tell it was Barton because he's the only blonde playing at right back. ;-)

Screach, OnlySony/2 - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

OS/2, PS/2. Betamax.

Ha ha. Did you know that the defunct OS/2 is still running many of the world's financial organisations - well at least those that don't like the "blue screen of death". Also I believe many of the world's ATMs.

But along with your analogy of Betamax I presume there was a recognition of product quality - just sh*tty marketing!!

We still use OS/2, yes nice product and shitty advertising. Do you remember the one "It will totally obliterate your machine!" Oh man, that was a winner.
