Enterprise Vs Standard Edition...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : SQL Server Database Administration : One Thread

Eric,

Can you tell me the difference in Enterprise Edition and Standar Edition of SQL Server 7.0?

Thanks,

Kothan.

Kothan,

The SQL Server Books Online article, "SQL Server Editions" spells out the differences.

The differences are: The only NT Server version that SQL Server Enterprise Edition runs on is NT Server Enterprise Edition. By doing so it can support up to 32 CPUs, extended memory, SQL Server Failover Support, and user-defined cube partitions. Standard Edition, while it will run on NT Server Enterprise Edition, supports only 4 CPUs and does not support extended memory, SQL Server Failover Support, or user-defined cube partitions.

Hope this helps,

Eric
