Doug and Carol Forever

This past episode was masterfully handled.

Doug and Carol back together in the most natural way possible. An ending to their romantic arc that was most satisfying. I am so happy with the way the writers chose to handle this. A great understanding of these two personalitlies, beautifully, understatedly acted. The emotion was apparent.

I am, for lack of better, more eloquent phrasing, most esctatic. These two characters will live on in our minds. Happy--together. Wonderful television.

I have to wait 35 more minutes till ER is on in California, but I just couldn't wait to read the spoilers..Thanks so much! :) It sounds like it's going to be a great show and the previews for next week sound just as good! Yay for Doug and Carol! Oh Luka...if you need a shoulder to cry on, mine's available! :)

Wow, Doug sure has a nice place! I mean, it was very scenic and peaceful and so pretty being near the water like that. Heck, I would move there!

yeah, he's got a nice place! Think he was preparing to raise some kids there? AND he's got a boat. Amazing he was off work, he didn't know she was coming did he? She didn't call him right? He didn't look all that surprised, but then that's Doug, I think the impression was that he didn't know right? I loved how he kept his eyes on her, asked about the girls, took her face in his hands (like he did on the last kiss we saw), and picked her up as he hugged her. Happily ever after...thank you for coming back George!

All hour I kept thinking...we're gonna see George, we're gonna see George, we're gonna see George! Sorry, Luka, but yes, animal crackers are better. Poor guy though. The way he said "okay" and looked very understanding when she said she couldn't have dinner (before she explained why) broke my heart. He's a sweetie, I'm glad he'll still be around.

*I can't wait to see the review, I think we'll have a happy reviewer, yes?

Elaine Your We're goin see George is so cute!! That is exactly how I was thinking the whole epi. I am so glad the writers gave the fans what they ME really wanted. A great happy ending!!! GC is soooo sexy. If he was gravy I would have to use a biscuit cause I would not want to miss a drop!!!

Was Doug's walk up the dock not the coolest thing? At first I wasn't sure if they were using a double and wouldn't show a close-up, then I thought "Man, that looks like Adam Arkin," and then I was VERY surprised and pleased to see the REAL Doug embrace his Carol. GREAT ending!!!

Kristen, I agree! The way they came back together was perfect. The writers had enough foresight last year when GC left to make it clear that Doug loved Carol and wanted her to come with him. The issue for Carol since that time has been her struggle to accept Doug's love and realize that she loves and needs him as well. Her getting on that plane to go to him was a huge step, the final necessary step, that brought that story full-circle to a satisfying conclusion. Thank you to John Wells and the writers for not forgetting who these characters are, and most of all thank you to George and Julianna for the beautiful story they created over the last six years!

Like I said before,I was a little nervous that he wouldn't be back for some reason after I found out he would be back. But when I saw him loading the stuff on the boat I thought "Well, that LOOKS like him." But after I saw the loping, draggin, pigeon-toed walk, I knew it was Doug's trademark.
