I have brought Sony dsc-s70. It is really a great camera. Its battery life is 2.5 hours with LCD on - much greater than other cameras. Moreover, it has no memory effect. The image quality is excellent. This model also has manual features - aperature or shutter priority modes and spot metering, which are not present in previous sony DC models. It is easy and convenient to control.

I have not try olympus 3030. But it surely has shorter battery span. It has slightly more features, such as sequential filming, adjustable ISO setting, shutter speed up to 16s, optical teleconverter.

I think battery life is one of the most important factor in choosing a DC.
