I've heard a rumour (but I wouldn't take it seriously) that when one of the nurses gets raped ,it comes out that Kerry was raped some years ago and that is the reason for her limp (the injuries from her rape) which would also explain her fear of close relationships.Like I said I wouldn't take this rumour seriously but it sure would explain a lot of things!

I have heard the spoiler about a nurse being raped and it is possible that Kerry has been raped in the past, but I don't think that is what her disability comes from. I read somewhere that Laura Innes has been working with the writers to come up with a storyline to reveal what her disability is and from what I remember it was something she was born with. Also, since she was given up for adoption I think she has felt that the disability was a reason for that.

Hmm...that could explain a lot of things. Perhaps she was abused as a baby and then abandoned? I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Anyhow, I love how Kerry can be such a downright b*tch, but then is so sweet to others who are disabled or have been "abandoned." I feel this is the reason for her compassion regarding Carol ever since the pregnancy. Carol has, in a way, been "abandoned" by Doug, and therefore Kerry can somewhat identify with her. I know I got sort-of off-topic, but it just came to me. :-)

Actually, Kerry got her limp because she never had the polio vaccine when she was a child. It's because her parents were some sort of missionaries who always travel outside the country.

Abigail, are you being tongue in cheek? I couldn't tell and I'm almost certain that they've NEVER revealed the reason for Kerry's limp to date. In fact, Dr. Dave was trying to find out a few epis ago and never did. I think they've even been vague about whether it's from birth or an injury, except she has seemed to be concerned about children not being wanted due to a disability.

Abigail, that's what Laura Innes said on Rosie O'Donnell, but she said that was just the explanation she had made up for herself-- she was just fantasizing. Who says missionaries and their children don't get vaccinated? Of course they do.

On the topic of Kerry-- on tonight's epi, when she and Carol were discussing the dnr lady, and Carol was pushing for a different resolution, Kerry kept saying, "Not today. I don't need this today." I wondered if there was a significance to the date; maybe an anniversary? That would help explain why she was so sharp with everyone, more so than usual.

Forgive the spelling, do you all rember when Carter lived with Kerry, and she came home and Carter said you Mom phoned, she explians to Carter in that eposide that she was addopted and alway wondered if it was because of her leg.

It might be something she was born with, but I doubt it because ER likes to be dramatic and the rape story (although it didn't happen) seems more like something they would do. When they do finally tell what it is, I think it will be a huge ratings grabber, because it is one of the most asked questions about ER (That and "what was the song played at the end of "Be Still My Heart") and I have a feeling that it will be a big part of the preveiw (they'll want to publicize the heck out of it); the annoucer will summarize the basic story (being over-dramatic as always) and end with something like: "and in the midst of it all, a doctor reveals her painful past, along with a much anticipated secret" *I also wondered about her repeated "not today, please not today." *
