Let's make some noise, cacophonists

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Cacophony : One Thread

What happened to SF-caco? Being a student here in SF and living in LA when on break, I signed up for both LA ans SF Cacophonist newsletters, and all I get is a flood of messages from down south.

I even went to tommy's Joynt about a month ago... nothing. Why didn't it work, or did everyone just join different organizations instead?

Let's start this motha back up.

Cacophony died because of Burning Man. Burning Man "mainstreamed" the unique SF culture that was Cacophony, choked it off with all Larry and Marian's marketing and PR spin, merchandizing, etc.

Because we all sold our stocks and built a gated community in Nevada. Because Webvan doesn't deliver subversion. Because slipping into the warm bath of complacency feels soooo good with calming bancha tea crystals from Sephora.
