New away strip

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

The chronicle has a picture of the new away shirt its all black with blue somethings under the arms. How origianl, didn't manure do a black away shirt last century. Are we a football club or a football club trying to make a fashion statement. I am gettin really tired of seeing people in the US with toon shirts on and then when approached about its origins they don't even know where Newcastle is. Of course this is the kind of beahavior expected from a Man U fan.

Rob Lee was interviewed on Sly Sports this evening, wearing the new away kit. Actually, I was surprised that I liked it! Mind, I only saw a quick shot of it - can't remember if it had the NTL logo or not?

They were talking to a few of the players on the local news and they seemed to like it. Got the feeling they were glad to see the back of the white strip. It does have the ntl logo on, otherwise it's OK - might even get one!

The club crest is much bigger now, which is the most striking aspect. As big as your hand, if you snip your fingers off with a handy pair of pruning shears.

From last night's Ronnie:

They reckon it will be on sale from midnight 17th July. That clearly explains why the orificial s*ite are still showing a picture of the old away strip - one last chance to sell some.

Does this mean the end of those white "Girly" shorts then?

It's not bad. Hate the ntl logo. The black is certainly far more slimming...good news for Howey, but little Gavilan will probably disappear in it! ;-)))

Rik - you should send that shirt back as faulty. It's got a hole in it with a tit sticking out.

Well, the NTL logo does printed on the new away shirt. Is that means that we've the new sponsor? I will miss the Broon Ale, because I think that one was the best logo of all the premierships sponsors, the NTL...maybe I like their money if they does take as our new sponsor...

From the orificial site. Not bad prices for a 10 dollar shirt in the Far East. Mate of mine was in Thialand and picked up s new Toon Black and white top for nine canadian dollars ( about three and a half quid) oh well, the fat get fatter.

"NEW LOOK AWAY FROM HOME Newcastle United fans will have the chance to buy the new away kit from midnight on Thursday July 13th.

The club will operate a pre - order facility through all club stores, Newcastle United Direct Mail ( Tel: 0990 501892) and here on the official Website.

The Newcastle United retail price for the kit will remain unchanged from the current season, namely:

Short sleeved shirts: Adults #40, Youth #35, Junior #30

Long sleeve shirts: Adults #45

Shorts: Adult #19, Junior #15

Socks: Adult #9, Junior #8

Adidas, the Club's official kit suppliers, have produced the new strip in association with United. The striking colour combination will give it strong visibility.

The new strip includes Climalite fabric and anatomically placed ventilation for keeping the body dry and comfortable, and benefits from some of the most sophisticated sportswear technology."

Crikey ITK. Is that what it is? In that case, I don't want one - unless they can show me on modelled by a better dummy.
