Song for 5-11-00 episode (small spoiler)greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread |
After lurking for a while, I thought it was time to submit something I heard on my local radio station this morning (Peoria, Illinois, to be exact). They just finished playing the new Don Henley single, "Taking You Home", and then said that this song was going to be used in the Julianna Marguiles final episode tomorrow night. (Hey Mike, maybe this will preclude you from getting all those "What song is that?" NAH!) Anyway, I was very happy -- first of all, because I'm big Don Henley fan, and I'm just glad that he has a new album coming finally! But more than that, the lyrics talking about "finding a love and taking you home". Of course, on the radio station, they were speculating that this would be, of course, Doug. I'll see if I can't find the lyrics somewhere, and also the name of the new album for those who will want to buy the music. Back to lurking again!

I just checked a Don Henley website -- the album is called "Inside Job", and it comes out on May 23.

Really, you're radio station was talking about the meaning behind it for Carol? Wow, my radio shows never talk about that stuff, they just announce stuff and move on. I like the sound of that too...very hopeful of her return to Doug, since ER usually picks songs meaningful to the scenes and not just ones that sound good. Sounds very bittersweet...I'll be very sad to see her go, but she is also going "home" to Doug.

I just lurk here, but wanted to let you know that you can hear the song on www.wbr.com/donhenley On the radio today, they mentioned that Henley wrote the song for his wife and newborn baby (bringing them home from hospital). Also mentioned ER tomorrow. Perfect song for a Doug/Carol reunion.

I think he did that song on "Storytellers" on VH-1 last week. I'll have to check my video tape to be sure. Henley is one of my favorite singers and I'm so excited to hear his song will be featured on my favorite show! (And he was on JUST SHOOT ME last night.)
