What's your true color?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Xeney : One Thread

Mine is green. Something about being kind hearted and crap like that. Obviously it's just dead on.

Another green here. Man. That seems kinda dull. If I'm going to be green I at least want to be chartruse.

Green is better than what I am -- BROWN!

Apparently I am: "a logical and pragmatic individual who is ruled more by your head than your heart. [I] have an inquisitive mind and an insatiable curiosity"

That's all well and good, but brown is such an icky colour.

I also go Green. I think the test has a much higher regard for me than I do. That, or I'm better at fooling the general public than I thought.

"Inquisitive and logical, BROWN is the color of your personality."

I don't like the color brown that much. It's more my mom's color. I like "inquisitive and logical" though. That sounds more flattering than brown.

(What kind of fragile emotional condition must I be in when I'm looking for flattery from an online personality test?)

I'm green too. It's my favorite color, so that's okay.

"Your color is BLACK. The color of night. Serene and mysterious. Black conjures up images of elegant evening gowns and dashing tuxedos. Traditionally a symbol of success, black represents power and an uncompromising demand for perfection. You have a strength of character that is second to none. You most likely set challenging goals for yourself, and do whatever it takes to achieve them. This unfaltering determination, along with your natural elegance, impresses people. But keep in mind that your personality might be intimidating to some. Black is the color of professionalism and achievement. It's clearly the color for you."

Hmmm... I like the color a lot, although perhaps not as much as some artsy coffeehouse types I've seen. As for the personality analysis, it's not so much dead-on. Yeah, I'm type A and goal-oriented (Kiersey ENTJ), but I think people who know me might very well sign a petition to permanently ban the phrase "natural elegance" from any attempted description of me, and "serene" would have to be near the bottom of any list of adjectives one might use about me.

I'm YELLOW - Sunny and cheerful. Coincidentally my favorite color but I know I'm not always sunny and cheerful.

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

Brown? Oh, ick!

Yeah, ok, I like to think of myself as logical and pragmatic and all that, but brown? Ish.

My actual favorite color is green. I am *too* kindhearted - just don't piss me off, 'kay? ;)

I'm orange, but I'm about to run away and didn't have time to read what this means, so I'll make it up and say 'you're a super star and will win friends everywhere you go, and people will give you a seat on the tube tonight, and your husband will cook you dinner'.

Yet another brown person. I second what everyone else said on that.

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

Also BROWN. I'm happy being logical and inquisitive. I AM a problem solver. My room IS filled with wood. But my color implies that I too am made of wood. BROWN people aren't automatons, we want to be loved too. Can I be BROWN with YELLOW rising?

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

Blah. Brown.

But I like what it had to say about me, most of it is true. Even though I don't like the color.

I am BLUE; the most soothing color in the spectrum. The color of a clear summer sky, or a deep, reflective ocean. Blue has traditionally symbolized trust, solitude, and loyalty. I am a contemplative person who values time spent alone. When it comes to friends, I would rather connect deeply with a few people. I probably have a calming presence that attracts people to me. Cool and collected, I rarely overreact. Instead, I think things through before coming to a decision. My level-headed and thoughtful approach is patently blue.

Well. I agree with most of that. I do overreact at times, but not a lot, and I am normally very level-headed.

I like being blue.

I'm Brown too. :)

I'm brown too, which is kinda like being Mr. Shit.,

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

I took the test and ended up with brown, which didn't seem to make sense with the answers I chose. So I changed my response to the last question, and ended up with yellow. I changed it again and got green, then I got black.

I think the results of the test were based on the response to the last question...

Nanette, I think you're right.

I was a Brown and not all that happy with it. I read your entry, changed my last answer, and now I'm a Blue.

Woopee. Both describe me, so mimicing someone above, I'll declare myself a Blue with Brown rising. Does that make me a muddy lake?

Black. "You're a Scorpio, or at least a Scorpio wannabe. A New Yorker, or at least a New Yorker wannabe. Your favorite holiday is Halloween, your favorite Buffy character is Angel, and you cried when Edward Gorey died. Adulthood is not boring because you get to drink and smoke and wear your favorite colors, though right now you're going crazy because the stores are full of wimpy spring pastels and you won't be able to find anything you like until fall, or maybe even Christmas. Angel would understand about this. Potential significant others will do anything to avoid having the Conversation with you, because they're convinced you're going to shoot them down - and you are, aren't you?"

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

BROWN here as well....and all of it fits. Especially: "Brown is an impartial and neutral color... They gather all of the facts before coming to a timely and informed decision"

It's not easy being brown...

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

Traditionally a symbol of success, black represents power and an uncompromising demand for perfection. You have a strength of character that is second to none.

I think all I proved is that I know how to answer the questions to get the answer that I want, and not necessarily the correct answer.

Blue. Appropriate since it's also my favorie color. Although, I think that in many ways, the character description is more what I _aspire_ to than what I really am.

I'm often highly emotional rather than cool, calm and collected.

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

I'm red "racy and exciting". I really don't think I can live up to that advertising. Red has always been "my color" though, I look good in it, etc. if I change the answer to the last question i'm brown "logical and inquisitive". so I figure I'm all at once.

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

Black- Serious and elegant... or just function, as it goes with everything?

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

Green. It said all sorts of nice things, but then do any of these tests ever say negative things?

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

Also, I went back and changed my answer to the last question, and got green no matter what. So it must not just look at that one.

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

I'm brown as well. Hmmm. We seem to be as common as dirt.

-- Anonymous, May 10, 2000

Brown yet again. "BROWN is a credible and stable color. Reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy, brown is the color of academia." And of shit, as someone else noted

-- Anonymous, May 11, 2000

Blue, meaning 'serene and thoughtful'. Well, it is my second favorite color, but in the end I always go for bright red. And I have no idea what that stands for. Didn't anybody get red out there? (no pun intended, btw)

-- Anonymous, May 11, 2000

I guess there're only two of us racy and exciting reds here. So far, anyway.

I'm gonna just go now, and complete some of my "exciting" and "racy" computer stuff.

I've been back to check out what an 'orange' is, and this is the blurb:

You are a bold and confident ORANGE. Orange is a warm, yet powerful color that indicates a strong and welcoming personality. You are a vibrant individual with an upbeat attitude and bright, inviting demeanor. Orange is no ordinary color, and you're no ordinary person. Energetic and fun-loving, you're a real friend magnet. Your charm and unassuming manner make you the sort of person people want to meet. You are well-rounded, fun to be around, and enjoy helping others. It is no surprise then that Orange is also a symbol of attraction. It is clearly the color for you.

So I rock, in short.

I am BLUE : )

You're BLUE; the most soothing color in the spectrum. The color of a clear summer sky, or a deep, reflective ocean. Blue has traditionally symbolized trust, solitude, and loyalty. You are most likely a contemplative person who values time spent alone. When it comes to friends, you would rather connect deeply with a few people than have a bunch of loose acquaintances. You probably have a calming presence that attracts people to you. Cool and collected, you rarely overreact. Instead, you think things through before coming to a decision. Your level-headed and thoughtful approach is patently blue.

On the money, honey! Oddly enough I'm a Scorpio AND a New Yorker but not a "Black" person. *shrug* My closet may not agree with that though.

-- Anonymous, May 11, 2000

I'm brown too. I agree with all the other browns - we wanna be loved too.... But they are wrong because I rely on my intuition far more than emode is giving me credit for - which is nada....

I wanna be blue. That's my favorite color. Then purple. Then white. Wonder what that combo means?????
