Poll: now the season is over

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

We looked at this at the beginning of the season. Now we've had a full season of them, do you hate Makems more than/less than/the same as the Makems?

Well, maybe I hate them because they have a better season than we had this year, but to speak the truth, I'm making a friendship with one of them, and he didn't sound as bad as I'm think of they would be. He was at the first time he attacking me with his angry e-mail, but soon he knows me came from Indonesia, he become my new friend.

By the way, it seems like many-many months ago since my last posting in here. I miss you all!

Eddy!! Great to hear from you again. Don't make it so long next time, eh?

As for the initial question, their "success" this season means nowt to me. As far as I am concerned, this is merely a blip on normality in North East footalling circles. Normal service will be resumed very quickly. I don't have the figures to hand, but I'd be very interested if someone had the analysis of both teams' results since that (in hindsight) blissful day when we were plodged off the park.

They're Mackems and they will always be Mackems, irrespective of a name change (Black Cats - ha ha ha). They are destined to be 2nd class citizens forever, despite the current wave of euphoria washing over Wearside.

I love being on the RTG board it really is great to see.

I'm starting to understand them. What you've got to do to gain their trust is moan a bit, call Phillips SK, moan about Keegan, sign off with FTM or 2-1 or 15/8/99. After that they love you.

I can nearly predict their reactions to events but their negativity continues to astound me.

Having seen how low they aim I know they are not a long term threat to us, or anyone really.

I remember thinking how wonderfully wicked Uruguay were in the 1986 World Cup Finals. They were so evil it was an art form. I now recognise the same in the dourness that is a Mackem. If they didn't have us as a big brother to hate they'd have no point in living.

Mac,

Uruguay in '86? Weren't they always so? An inbred trait. Same with the Mackems. Inbred. 'nuff said.

I personally don't dislike the Makems any more now than I did at the start of the season.

I detested the inbred b@st@rds with a vengence then and I detest them with a vengence now......in fact I detested them with a vengence in September 1963, when I went to my first match at SJP and became B&W through and through, and I have never changed my opinion of them to this day.....they were inbred b@st@ards then, they are inbred b@st@ards now and they will be inbred b@st@ards as long as they have breath in their pathetic little bodies.

Other than that, I don't like them!

Forked out my bet that we would finish higher on Friday and the bloke was decent enough to give me the same bet for next season. I've mellowed slightly, safe in the knowledge that they are well behind us in the 'everything stakes'.

Next season I want us to be so much better than them to make up for our 1 - 2 home show.

Yeah I had a bet on that we wouls finish higher and I had to concede. To a Mackem living in Smogville !!!! ;o(

In response to Screacher's enquiry, a comparison between the results of NUFC and SAFC since the appointment of Mr Bobby Robson shows that Sunderland are two points to the better:

NUFC W:13 D:9 L:9 Points:48

SAFC W:14 D:8 L:9 Points:50

This data disregards the first 6 games of the 1999/2000 season.

Aye ive lost on Phillips goals and positioning .. the lad didnt gloat too much , but that doesnt cover for the crap he gave me all season and the shite he has given me every year i remind him of who's the best club . Oh aye he said he laughed hi head off When Poyet scored his second . W@nker . I hate them just as much as always

I agree with Geordie - they are an irrelevance.

As for the fans, I often see Mackem shirts around the shops (south of the river). It has little effect on me. They have a right to be there, unlike the bandwaggoners who wear the Heath shirts all over the North East, most of whom have never been to OT and many who could not find Manchester on a map.
