Good Experience with State Street Direct

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I had a most unusual experience with State Street Direct when buying my Coolpix 990. First, they told me they would ship it the day it arrived in their warehouse (4/28/00), but they actually shipped it earlier by a day and sent it by faster means (next day). But that's not the unusual part. I called to tell them my 990 made weird sounds (see my earlier post). They gave me a return authorization number, as usual. Then they sent me a new camera, next day air, instead of waiting for my old one to arrive at their shop. Very nice!

Hi Tom,

I agree with you concerning State Street Direct.

At first I was a bit peeved when I opened my package and found that my Coolpix 990, was indeed a Kodak cd210. When I called them back, they said that they would send me my camera right away. The NEXT day, I had my camera, and I live in Hawaii! I definitely expected another week for such a delivery.

Glad to hear that I purchased (via the net) an expensive product from a reliable (so far) company, even with the minor inconvenience.

Now the question is, should I return the Kodak Camera? -ha ha

They are selling it for $1089. Isn't that about $90 over the suggested retail price?

Mine was $899.
