It is a part of a line from Edgar Alan Poe's The Raven.

"Once upon a midnight dreary as I pondered weak and weary over many a volume of forgotten lore Suddenly there came a tapping as of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

That is probably not exact but close.
