When I play a VCD on my Compaq laptop CDROM drive (pentium 150 MHz, 32 mB RAM), the movement in the images leaves a slight trail. What is causing this and how do I get rid of it. I am using Compaq's Multimedia Player Software. It does the same thing with ActiveMovie.

It's probably your display. Even high end laptops today sometimes have refresh problems, so it's not supprising that you are having trouble.

what type of display do you have on your compaq laptop? Mine is a presario and it still has the dual scan type display. This type of display tends to blur and leaves trails. TFT display will fix this problem to some extend, but high motion will bring it right back.
