Cenrtal Defence?

1. If Dabizas fails to agree terms - clubcall 2. If Helder is not bought - 4 mil far too much given his record of injuries - what will happen

Howey not reliable Goma, Marcelino spend more time injured than fit

that leaves......

How many times this season have we started with the same pairing? This is a major concern IMHO

You're dead right Pete.

The Ronnie this evening reports that Helder looks like returning to Deportiva as they are asking #4mm for him. BR expects to get him on a free because of his injury history.

It look as though Marcelino is going to Deportivo also, and reports suggest Goma may be on his way to either Monaco or Marseille.

So, we're back to Howey, Dabs and Hughes - as at the end of last season. However, BR will surely realise this is not acceptable. He is apparently after Fernando Meira from Portugal. I would expect him to sign two CB's if Marcelino and Goma leave.

A vote of thanks for Nikos Dabizas, who has performed over recent weeks knowing his father was seriously ill and has unfortunately passed away recently. Commitment to the cause above and beyond the call of duty, he's known about his father's illness since February.

Word is, Dabs will sign......Howey is staying......Helder will 'probably' go to Deportivo......Goma will stay......Marcelino will go and on Sunday evening, after the games are all over and everyone has gone home, a free transfer to SJP will be announced involving a central defender.....no name 'as yet' but he is reported to be in his thirties, of European origin, hates banana's and the Makems will spit blood when it is announced.

More soon......................

ITK.

That's sooo frustrating!

Am I being stupid and not getting your clues or do you really not know???

-- Anonymous, May 09, 2000

Come on ITK - more hints - I've been through all Premiership and can't think of one that would upset Makems.

He excercised last makem entry right!

What??

-- Anonymous, May 09, 2000

Yep - I'm with Pilgrim - what ?

-- Anonymous, May 09, 2000

Josh,

Do you think he means he was the last Makem signing?? It's still no help to me!

-- Anonymous, May 09, 2000

Nah - he's being cryptic - makem entries right - unless its an anagram - sod it I'm going to bed.

Take the first letter from each word.....see if it gives the name of a German who Monkey refuses to play because of a training ground barny, but who the Makem fans have been screaming for - for the three games!

The penny drops.... and I'd just worked out it was someone called hepemgater!

Helmer's 35. OK they'll spit blood but it's hardly what I was hoping for from the closed season!

....as I understand it, the thinking is as a shoring up excercise, more often on the bench, but making appearances as and when required. A defender of reasonable quality who can puts pressure on the others, which is somethign they haven't had a hell of a lot of......

It's not the kind of summer signing I was looking for, but it's a start, it will not be the only one, and at the same time.....he can come in and fill the role that Psycho did for us so well for a while.....the players on the pitch know he is there and ready to get onto the pitch if the f**k up......both Dabs and Howey did at SJP against Leeds but knew they would not be taken off.......

Complacency in ANY position is not a good trait to have in a team....whether we like it or not, its a squad game these days and that means pressure in all areas of the field.

Helmer ?? Helmer ??!! That's a bliddy Dalglish signing that is.

Repeat mantra : Must trust Bobby. Must trust Bobby. Must trust .....

Hepengator & Helmer, Bobby must be saving up for something special.
