The Nikonview v3 software doesn't show the info.txt file when you double click on the icon of the CP990... A Lexar USB CF card reader doesn't show the info.txt file either. I really, really need to get the file. What is the recipe to get it? I don't have a laptop.

To answer my own question, I found by switching to a Microtech USB CameraMate, I could finally see the info.txt file on the Lexar CF card! I had to disable the extensions installed by all the other USB card readers though.
