It's a stretch. Is it possible that any scenes with Doug returning to bring Carol out to Seattle were filmed before he left the show? It seems that the writers knew that Carol was going to be pregnant and JM was leaving the show. This would explain why George Clooney and everyone are stating that he is not "retuning". Just a thought. I know a lot of you out there have a great interest in how this will end up on Thursday night. I also hope for a happy ending with a "happily ever after" for Doug and Carol. For what it's worth though, I think Luka is much more appealing! JMHO!!!

Related question -- if an actor does a guest appearance, does that mean his/her name _MUST_ be in the opening credits? Or if it's a surprise, could they put the name in the ending credits instead? Anyone who really likes surprises might want to cover up the bottom of your screen when the opening credits run this Thursday.

If they went to all of the trouble to keep George Clooney's appearance in the episode a secret for this long, I doubt they'll spoil the surprise by sticking his name and/or face in the credits.

I've never understood why but occasionally in a theatrical movie a famous actor will have an uncredited role. To me it assumes they'll always have the face recognition they currently enjoy which doesn't always happen. So, if he shows, he could be uncredited period or his name could be at the end. I agree that it won't be at the beginning.

Although I don't believe Doug Ross will show his face, I do know something. Sometimes in the X Files if they don't want us to know Alex Krycek is going to appear they take Nick Lea's name of the credits. I know they definately did it during SR 819.

If they did shoot a Doug sceen last year before he left, it would probably have to be one with only Doug and Carol. Some of the other characters have changed since then. Kerry's hair is longer and Carters is shorter. And I'm sure you'd be able to notice differences in other characters too. Although, I don't think Carol has changed much.
