QV 3000EX LCD Screen

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

This isn't necessarily a problem specific to my 3000EX, but when I'm in bright sunlight it is almost impossible to use the LCD screen. Does anybody make some type of hood for LCD screens or does anyone have an idea on how to construct a hood so the LCD screen is functional under bright lights.

Thanks for your help, Paul Van Vleet pvan@fuse.net

I just bought and received the Xtend-a-View from Phil Williams' PhotoSolve company. I use it to turn my Olympus 2020 LCD into a true SLR-like TTL optical viewfinder. Have been very happy with it and it only costs $20 after shipping.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I have the same problem. In fact, my only complaint with my Epson 850Z is that I can't see anything on the LCD screen when outdoors. I know that someone had invented a shielded viewer but I didn't write the name of the manufacturer at the time because I figured I could always locate it at a later date. I'm going to check out photosolve.com to see if they make a hood for the 850Z. Good luck!
