Super website! Thanks for the (urban gardening & so much more) link.

'Been practicing much of what they advocate for quite a while (blush!)...it really does work.

Doubt that you can convince too many folks to deal with composting, worms and not using the bug spray too much, though...after all that competes with massive corporate advertising budgets.

I don't know, Chance. Word gets around. We attach a pop bottle with ordinary liquid dish soap to our hose if the bug infestation gets too bad, and we wash all the buildings and the trees as well as the gardens with this very diluted mix. Easy, and works beautifully.

Our city began a one-day special last year whereby they sell 10,000 $80 composters for $20. Last year the line-up began at 6 a.m., and by 10 a.m. they were sold out. This year they're doing it again, and some of us are urging them to move above 10,000.

Then there's mushroom compost day. Once a year a mushroom factory gives away free compost on a day when they also provide free loaders. Again, the line-up is early, and it is long. I'm in Canada, so maybe the attitude is different. I'm surrounded by gardeners in the heart of a city--and I love it! :)
