What Vertical picture problems? First I've heard of it. I've owned a couple of them. Great cameras. My only beef with them was the lack of a Quick Control dial on the back, so I prefered the Elan. But they seem to be very reliable.

I too have owned two of the EOS10s. I have many fond memories as it was the first EOS with accurate and fast autofocus after the EOS1. It still stands up well to an Elan II or A2 in features and performance. The lack of a Quick Control dial on the back is a minus if you like to use manual exposure or hate poking a button while turning the input wheel. The only thing hard about vertical pics is the lack of a grip extension with duplicate controls for vertical shooting (like the booster for the EOS1N, 3, etc.). The drive is very fast, much faster than an Elan (I think 4 or 5 fps), but is a little loud (not louder than an EOS1).

It had 3 autofocus sensors (which light up red), the center one being a cross sensor, selectable focus sensors, custom functions, a barcode receiver (useless), TV, AV, DEP, Manual, Program and picture modes, exposure comp, bracketing, multiple exposures, an interval timer (!), 28mm spread non-zoomming flash, flash compensation, AI servo AF, AI focus AF--everything that modern EOS cameras have. One of the best features is the little remote control. The worst feature is a lack of flexibility in assigning the metering patterns. For example, center weighted metering works only in manual mode and the large spot can be only used by pressing the * button the creative modes. I wish I still had mine.
