is it possible to get a download or upgrade for my pc to play vcd's?

i own an advent which has a built in dvd also.

Alan,

Did your DVD come with a software DVD decoder? More than likely it will already play VCDs. If not, try PowerDVD which is available for free trial download, same with WinDVD. They will both play VCDs.
