Football - so bloody cruel

Last night my team competed in the League Cup Final, nice venue, local Junior side, great facilities, our lads even put shirts and ties on for the occassion, 4 bottles of bubbly and a crate of Millers in with kit bag , just had the feeling that tonite was the nite, After going behind we recovered to go 4-3 in front but with the last touch of the game they equalized to take it into extra time, We established a 5-4 lead going into the last quarter, they missed a penalty, surely the cup was ours, c`mon lads, yeah for sure, you got it, they pulled level last kick of extra time finally winning 5-4 on penalties. This game can kick you in the teeth , ok now but we all know the feeling being Toon Army, life goes on , sod it.

Screach, Juniors up here are semi -pro, on the west coast all ex league players, 18 and under are on Juvenile form and then we have the primaries.

Looks like it's down to the Lads in the resorves to provide the silverware this season against Blue Star. Since we have nowt to play for...how's about hoying the First Team into the fray just to make sure? :-)

Commiserations Buff. Nice story.

Still as a Toon fan these 51 years, I daresay you're well used to dealing with this kind of heartache?

All the Best

Jonno

That is a heartbreaking story. Commiserations from HK.

But, as we have been saying for some time now, there's always next year !
