Lurkers, Check in and let us know we are not alone.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

It is somewhat of a tradition to occassionally ask the lurkers out there to let us know who you are. It is always interesting to meet new folk. I was a lurker on the old forum, for the most part, but have become an addictive contributor on the new.

Hello, all lurkers, and thanks for joining us.

Answers

Mostly qualify.

Yo Carlos! I remember going a couple rounds with you on the old TB2000. Come to think of it, we ended up drunk together a couple times in Bok's old chat room. Had a pretty good time as I recall. So why so quiet these days? The war is over, jump in.

-- CD (costavike@hotmail.com), May 05, 2000.

Hey CD. Best thing about his whole silly mess is the friends and enemies you make. Love 'em both.

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), May 05, 2000.

Nope, you are alone. Sorry.

-- (existential@angst.now), May 06, 2000.

I used to post with my real addy.......many, many months ago, but this forum has deteriorated so badly, I'm actually not inclined to do so anymore.

There's still much to discuss, but the insulting, demeaning and condescending attitudes prevailing here are not condusive to informative discussion/debate.

That's it for me.....more scintillating discussion other places.

-- WhoMe (WhoMe@not.home), May 06, 2000.

WhoMe, "still much to discuss"? Like what? Mostly this forum is doin the Drudge or fussin. Discuss? Wanna try Decker? Oh, understand.

it,s hard to be humble--now-a-day,s.CLUE>in the LAST-DAY,S,men will be arrogant,lovers of self,puffed-up.BIG-EGO= little wisdom.new- forum,same yahoo,s. ''man proposes--GOD disposes'' tick-tock-tick- tock.

Still here-keeping up with the usual tiffs among you, daily news/info, and regular daily belly laughs in at least one form daily (ie: Male Belly Dancer thread!). I enjoy you all (for the most part- sorry Manny!). Couldn't go a day without you! I still miss KOS's insight. Many thanks for the enlightenment!!!!

-- Aunt Bee (SheriffAndy@Mayberry.com), May 06, 2000.

AB, Few thought of KOS in terms of insight instead of just mud and the attending humor. I did. Miss him too.

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), May 06, 2000.

I still check in daily also. I usually flit between here and ezboard. Miss the fit of the old forum, but I still enjoy the humor and IQ level here (mostly!). Seems like both forums have gone too far from the original( a little "edgier? here, and ezboard towards being a little too uptight). Oh well, all things must change and I will still be checking in daily!

-- dory (crtwheel@eburg.com), May 06, 2000.

I'm still waiting for 'Andy' to take me up on the offer to meet up somewhere and have a few drinks (or more), then get in a knock-down drag-out, then collapse in a silly giggling heap and FUGGEDDABOUDIT

(like they do in the movies......Y2k was weirder than most any movie I ever saw......like Patricia always said...."ya can't make this stuff up")

-- Chicken Little (panic@forthebirds.net), May 06, 2000.

Count me! I'm here for better or worse, richer or poorer, 'til death do us part........Yep, here daily for the brain *tickles*....faithful to this place no matter what. I enjoy it...

-- Miss Alane (MissAlaneeous@lwaysLurking.here), May 06, 2000.

I'm with Miss Alane on this one.

-- Michael (michaelteever@buffalo.com), May 06, 2000.

I never come here anymore...

-- Uncle Bob (unclb0b@aol.com), May 06, 2000.

you are alone its better that way

-- not (coming@in.here), May 06, 2000.

Well, looks like about 6 lurkers. Guess this forum is dying!

LOL.

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), May 06, 2000.

Future Shock:

I doubt that this forum is dying. I think it has a distinct flavor and demeanor that many find refreshing and stimulating.

I don't visit often because I usually frequent other locations. Just personal preference, not a judgement. The ribald and freewheeling discussions here are, to say the least, interesting.

I hope this forum continues in its success to attract and stimulate intelligent and lively discussion of events that affect or interest everyone. I am confident that it will.

I also hope that those posters that specialize in "rude, crude and socially unacceptable behavior" find another outlet so that everyone here can elevate the intellectual quotient without having to address the censorship question again.

Best wishes and hopes for continued success.

Grey Beard-

Thanks for the kind words. I was being sarcastic about the death of the forum. I am sure there are more lurkers on week days, and being one of the main contributors here, I know what is available and why I am addicted!

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), May 07, 2000.

Greybeard's sure welcome IMO.

Can't never have enough Tar Heels ;-)
