Who were the authors that were influenced by Edgar Allen Poe and what were his controbutions to American Literature?

I know Stephen King was one. I also know Sir Arthur Connan Doyle.

Most importantly influenced was his French soul brother Charles Baudelaire. All symbolists, writers of imagination, horror, detective stories. Usually the writers were those concerned with art of the short story and short lyrical poem, the side that intuitively centered on art for art's sake in Europe and America. Though Poe's reputation was held in disrepute in America until the 20th century his influence, at least indirectly on poetry, criticism, and specific genres was immense and intensely felt by writers of imagination and passion.
