New forum on the coming peak of oil productions and its consequences

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

After a lot of thought, I have decided to start a new Greenspun forum for discussing the coming peak in oil production and the resulting consequences. There are a few other lists on the net about this topic, some with high level experts providing input. However, most are very "leftish/green" oriented and are highly moderated. If your submission doesn't fit their agenda, it isn't posted, period.

Another aspect which brothers me is that they reject the use of economics and pricing as a means of determing what to do, or how to decide whether or not to implement a technology.

I suspect at first there might not be much interest so I will post links to articles revelant to the topic. (Thanks Debra for the link info!)

I propose this forum to be about all phases of the coming oil cruch, and what and how to deal with it. All are welcomed; I don't claim to know the answer and look forward to a wide range of inputs.

What I do know is that the world is finding only replacement barrel for every four barrels used, and that kind of math isn't going in our favor.

I don't think that Downstreamer's board is too leftist or green:

K.C.-- re: dieoff.com

Gosh! We're all DOOMED! There's absolutely NOTHING to look forward to other than the authoritarian and totalitarian controls of the JBTs of the NWO.

NAFTA--While You Were Sleeping...a super trip for those who cheered Tricky Dicky thru Big Bubba while they foisted this deal on all of us.

There had to be a rational explanation as to why the rich have gotten so much richer -- relative to the rest of us.

I've been following downstreamers fourm since it started. Lots of opinions and good comments. However, it has been focused upon working the market rather than the issues raised in dieoff.com. If you are into the market or are interested in what is going on in the petro wolrd today, downstreamer is great. If you are into longer term concerns an alternative might be better.

I don't mean to dismiss "leftish/Green" sites, who knows they might end up being correct. But I still feel that there is a need for a list that doesn't automatically trash opinions that don't fit their agenda. You should read some of their posts, they are really projecting their fanasties (and hard feelings towards capitalism).

This is too important for left/right fighting. I am looking for the truth of the matter. If that means finding a informative article on dieoff.com, well that's great.

Everyone is going to be effected by this, so that's find out what's real and what's hype.
