Jokers of the Year

Danny Kelly's column on Football365 is hysterical. Too long to post it all here, so follow ze link

Marcelino and Maric get a mention, as do 3 of Newton Heath's finest. Here's just one entry, not one of the funnier one, but brings up another 'record' Heath can still achieve this season:

Mikael Silvestre (Manchester United)
Not quite good enough at centre-back. Not quite good enough at left-back. Not quite good enough full stop. I know; it seems very strange that a Losers XI should include no less than three of the team that's won the Premiership by a length that would cause even Dion Dublin to blush, but the facts speak for themselves. This United defence is no good. Fact one; they already have the worst defensive record (44 conceded with two games to go) of any champions since the Premiership began. Fact two; if they concede just one more they will have the worst defensive record of any champions since 1974-75, when Derby let in 49. But Derby played four games more! Fact three; if they concede just one more goal this season, it will have been their worst defensive performance since 1990-91, when they finished... sixth. Fact four; when the Real (!) test came, United's rearguard was about as effective as a sponge doorknocker.
