Bobby to get #15 mills???

Newcastle manager Bobby Robson has been promised #15million and whatever he can generate from sales to continue his Tyneside revolution.

Even though the club have committed themselves to expansive rebuilding at their St James' Park ground, funds will be set aside for the man who has turned around their season.

Former England manager Robson has performed miracles since arriving in September and can now steam ahead with his ambitious plans, which include attempting to lure to the north-east two of the stars he left behind at Barcelona - #7million-rated club skipper Josep Guardiola and Martinez Luis Enrique.

Guardiola, 29, has recently found himself back in favour with Camp Nou coach Louis Van Gaal but is aware that the Dutchman is keen to offload him at the end of the season.

Robson is also interested in Feyenoord's experienced skipper Paul Bosvelt, whom he has watched a number of times this season and who is certain to be involved in Holland's Euro 2000 campaign next month.

To help balance the books, Robson is ready to offload #4m- rated Spanish defender Marcelino and French central defender Alain Goma, who is a #5m target for Marseille and Monaco. Former Croatia Zagreb striker Silvio Maric will also be sold.

Robson, however, is anxious to keep Peru skipper Nolberto Solano, a target for Real Madrid, at the club.

I'd be very surprised if YBR doesn't spend at least #15M this summer. And I'll guarantee it'll be better spent than the last two jokers did (OK, Dyer and maybe one or two others excepted).

According to reports Bobby is after Bassedas from Argentina again, now we have some money I can see this deal going ahead. It certainly won't be a rash signing after all the fuss last time.

Smoggies are reputedly signing Stevie Watson and Lee Clark.

another PR slagging off for the club. Paul Bosveldts agent now!

However, he slammed: "Since our last talk, and that's a long while ago, we haven't heard anything from Newcastle. And that isn't nice. The player is promised lots of things, and then nothing happens."

The criticism comes after similar frustrations were vented towards Newcastle, following their failed attempt to sign Christian Bassedas from Velez Sarsfield. However, Robson is now believed to have resurrected his interest in the South American.
