There has been some graffiti daubed around the RVI and University in blue paint. It's been there a few weeks now but it never ceases to wring genuine pathos from me.

We probably all remember those desperate, all-consuming, painful, first love-affairs with a mixture of amusement and cringing horror. This particular chap, however, has managed to sum up everything that was vile about being hit with all those emotions before you'd built up some anti-bodies (cynicism, experience, eyes in the back of your head, pre-emptive infidelity ;-)).

The legend he has painted in 2 foot high letters all over the place is:

I LOVE YOU TONYA (ANDY)

What strikes me as most painful about this is that he not only feels that he has to risk a criminal record in order to demonstrate his affection, but that he actually has to sign his name to make sure she knows which bloke it is. I could weep for him. Poor b*stard!

Oh yes! I remember that photo. When I met Gav for the first time at Mc'r airport for the first OT semi, it was the only thing I had to recognise him. Somehow, he looked slightly different out of context.
