Match Number 12

Great news for everyone, a game from the good old days! 22 August 1995, Bolton Wanderers at Burnden Park, an easy 3-1 away win. A Ginola cross met a leaping Les for our first, but classic NUFC defending let Gudni Bergsson in for an equalizer. Gillespie floated a ball across and Rob Lee placed the most careful of headers passed their keeper. Our third saw Big Les take control of a Clark pass in the centre circle, dribble through 3 midfielders, evade 2 defensive challenges, round the keeper and slot home from an amazingly tight angle. Andy who?

More big scores today, noticeably Howdon Harriers with a massive 23 out of a possible 29. The most gutted, officially sick as a parrot manager, however, is Scratchy who must be wondering what he has to do to win a game. 20 would normally guarantee the points...unless your opponent gets 21...

This result clearly shows I picked my squad from "the oldies". That Bullet chap was lucky to inherit such a good side.

Howay Softie.... get some more "random fixtures" from this era!

Ooh Geordie. You're not accusing one of our competition organisers of being corrupt are you? We all know that could never be the case.

Screach,

I'll be more than happy for you to take over next season! In fact you're welcome to take over from now.... the 2.5Meg 123 file can be in your reader today of you like :))

What can I say Scratchy? I at least managed to correct the acronym for your team's name...

Not half way through yet and all to play for (append footballing cliche here)

Today,s win took away the bitter taste of a real crap start to the new season. Fergie has been very quiet so far this season.

Hiro, just wait until the Cup starts again; the Mouth will return I'm sure :-)

OI!.........You talkin' to me or chewin' a brick

Floods Softie, what do the Tragedy have to do to get an away draw? Jiggle the system or something. I'll even settle for a stadium of sh*te 2-2, pain, heartbreak and all that.
