I reckon by now the crazy fool will have signed himself up, so many congrats you crazy fools! The only thing I'm getting hitched for is a decent slab of wedding prezzies. Unfortunately, young Softie will find his in amongst a barrel in the pub - which means he will have to attend a large scale meeting of the BBS to claim his prize!

My sincere best wishes that this will be the first of many happy days to come. The only thing to top this must be a thorough thrashing of the Monsters of Smog.

I tried to think of something cheesier to say but that was the best I can do :-)

Aw gee you guys! Might have know that the cat would be let out of the bag. Thank you for all your kind messages and "helpful" advice.

It was a lovely day, with bright sunshine and no rain for a change. Jonno kindly came along to witness the event (actually, to be strictly honest, his media career has fallen on hard times so he does special appearances at weddings and children's parties nowadays) and Tynedale Man and Steph took time out to pop down to the Civic Centre to watch the union (or in Steph's case doubtless to report back to the bbs Suffragettes that it really is safe to talk to Softie now). Sadly, however, the nice porter who showed us all where to go had put his Jobsworth hat on when TM and Steph arrived and decided not to tell them where we were so they actually missed the ceremony. Still, the gesture was appreciated and the Porter will be receiving a different one.

When the registrar told us that the deed was done, Nicola announced, "Oh good, I can start wearing my curlers in bed now!" I shall have to check the phone bill as she has clearly been in contact with the bbs bra-burners.

As for the chaps' side of things...made a good start at emptying the penny-jar but I'm ready for the chill ;-)

I had considered writing your very own match report Softie lad, but since I only got to see the second half in the Pub, it wouldn't be accurate. Softie did a fine job of feeding the watering the assembled troops and the conversation didn't vary from from matters Toon much.

Very much an enjoyable occasion even if the fact that Steph and I had been in the wrong spot was almost as embarassing as getting a lift from some one from the pub and promptly climbing into the wrong car with complete strangers in te front seat......ooooh me head hurts.

I can confirm that I attended this function and indeed officiated as a witness but I was convinced the groom was non other than Warren Barton. Maybe it's because of my myopia that Softie asked me to perform this service.

Anyway, congrats to Softie, if indeed it was him, and Nicola who must already be exerting an influence as the ceremony clashed with a Chester-le-St training ground session.
