Does anyone know anything about the new EOS digital camera? The camera Canon going to produce to complete with the new Nikon Digital DC1. Any information would be helpful. Maybe like when is it coming out? What's it's got? Some pricing? I've talked to some people who has seen it, at shows under plastic, but that's all. Thanks

As far as I know there is no hard info on this camera yet. I haven't even heard if a WORKING prototype has been seen by anyone outside Canon.

It looks like it may be built on a "prosumer" type body with built in flash, rather than on the EOS-1 series body. Price is anyone's guess, but probably less than the Nikon D1 ($5000). I'd be amazed if it was under about $2500. The earliest possible release I'd guess would be in September/October either at the summer Olympics or at Photokina, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't show up until next year.
