PAKISTAN BUSINESS RECORDER

FAISALABAD (May 1) : An old thermal power plant of 66 KV situated in Mansoorabad was gutted when a fire broke out in the Compound Section and valuable machinery and parts were completely reduced to ashes.

The fire was so violent that the fire-fighters of various fire brigade stations of the city extinguished the blaze after hectic efforts of six hours.

The eyewitness stated that some Faisalabad Electricity Supply Corporation (Fesco) workers were taking out compound from a cable box, when the fire engulfed the 66 KV power plant

Fesco employees succeeded in escaping after the fire broke out. No one as reported injured in the fire, however, investigation is in progress and loss is being calculating.
