I'm looking for a good digital camera to take, among other things, good, clear action shots. I would like to take pictures of Motocross and basketball. I'm really looking hard at the DC 290, but it sounds like it has significant delay when the button is pressed. Is there a digicam out there that is under $800 that would do what I'm looking for? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Sorry, but what you're asking for does not exist in your prioe range. The closest is the Nikon D1, which is about six times your stated price, plus the cost of lenses (unless you already own a Nikon 35mm camera).
