What do I like? e-mail. the chomsky board. bulletin boards in general. online journals. band websites. pretty pictures. ICQ. AIM. Yahoo! Messenger. Talking to my friends online. Hell, I probably wouldn't have met the Chomsky Army if it weren't for the internet. (geek alert! heh)

I probably am different online than I am offline. I have found that I am not as shy online...it's easier to talk, to share my thoughts and feelings in type than it is to just speak them out loud in front of actual people with actual faces.

i like that i am comfortable with who i am when i'm on-line. i'm not a different person; i'm just so much less self-conscious. i don't feel the pressure to be more interesting, more entertaining, more intelligent, more amusing, and more attractive than everybody else around me. the way i figure it, if you're reading what i'm writing, it's because you've got the time to do so. so i don't have to compete. i'm the same person. i say the same sarcastic, scattered, insane things on-line that i think day-to-day, but online, i don't feel the same pressures. i don't think you're going to get bored mid- sentence and make excuses to leave. and if you do, at least i won't have to see it happen and be forever embarassed. so it's all me, it's just a more relaxed, less freakish me. on-line, there are no averted eyes, embarassed glances, red faces, stuttering sentences, or tied tongues. i write what i think, good or bad. i'm strangely more coherent because i am able to (somewhat) organize my thoughts. unfortunately, i hate that. i would so like to be able to communicate face-to-face. it's a far more useful and rewarding skill than being able to type in my living room at 3 in the morning. i wish i could speak.

what i like most about the internet? the phantom planet website! because they are an awesome band. i am the same person online as offline: loud, outgoing and opinionated.
