Is it just me, or was that "Mrs. Benton" on "The Practice" last night? I kept expecting her to call out "Petie! Petie!":)

Speaking of the Benton's, it just hit me recently (so, maybe I'm slow) that Jackie (Khandi Alexander) was on NEWS RADIO with Abby (Maura Thierney).

I usually don't watch the Practice but I saw some of it last night, and I thought the same thing, but I'm Not sure. The actress who played Peter's mom was Beah Richards, who last appeared on the big screen in the film Beloved. I thought I heard she had died, but I could find nothing to confirm. And I also could not track down the name of the woman from last night.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that there were 2 different women who played Peter's Mom. You know, like the very first Al Broulet appeared only once, then was replaced later by the guy who is on Third Watch.

I just talked to my mom who watches the Practice and said that that WAS Beah Richards, so yup it was D. Pete's mom.
