The latest "Frog bleating":

I deserve a bigger club: Ginola

Spurs winger David Ginola believes that he deserves to have played for one of the top sides in European football.
The Frenchman has been reflecting on his career in English football, and says he is frustrated that he has not been able to display his talents on a bigger stage: "I really deserve to have played in a really top team.
"I will not say that Newcastle and Tottenham are not big teams, but when I talk big I mean AC Milan, Barcelona and Manchester United." Talking of how he feels his talent has been wasted for the clubs he has played for thus far, Ginola also revealed that he was denied a move to Barcelona while at Newcastle.

Arrogant French tosser!!

Be fair Clarky. The arrogant French tosser did say he enjoyed his time in Newcastle, and quite likes the Smoke as well. -)

Awwww poor Daveed what makes him think Barc or ManUre would have him anyway.

He must be 30+ now ??

I didn't get where I am today by being fair - especially to AFTs, Pit Bill!

Football365 reckons he's thinking about finishing his career in the US playing in MLS like his pal, Lothar Matheus. Guess he hasn't spoken to Lothar lately....rumour is he's less than thrilled with the quality of play in NY/NJ. ;-)

Sorry if it goes against the grain, but he has a place in my dream team any day! (:oP

Yes, but would he also be in your football team Ros?

Your just like my wife who still has his photo in the Utility Room - no sensitivity I reckon these Geordie lasses, even those from Jesmond!

I've always ridiculed people who prostitute themselves asking celebrities for autographs - "for the kids"! Well, I was travelling back from business in Paris one night a few years ago - around a 40 seater job. Well b*gger me, who was sitting right next to me but "thunder-thighs" Ginola himself. What a dilemma! I just knew if it came out in conversation that I'd sat next the him and not got his autograph I would have been sleeping in the spare bedroom for months.

So, I resisted manfully until we were descending, and until I couldn't leave it any longer. I had to almost pull the words out of my mouth to avoid choking. "Could I have your autograph please, Daveeeeeed? My wife thinks you're fantastic". I almost choked on my pathetic, miserable, @rse-licking words; feeling like a piece of ... well you know what.

Aynway, she was well chuffed, and now has a wrinkled airline ticket stub with "Best wishes Evelyn. David Ginola" scribbled on it which also adorns our Utility room wall. As for me? Well, I've made virtually a full recovery from this most humiliating of experiences. As I told the wife - such is the price of true love (!!!)

Still, it must be nice to know that he sits there accumulating the fluff from your pants in the tumbledrier...a bit like his sense of integrity really :-)

KK stopped Ginola going to Barca in his final summer and then pissed off himself the next January.

Daveed couldn't cope with KD = he left. When you've talent like him, good looks (according to women - I can't see it myself - he's not got the guts I have) & a fit wife why shouldn't he be arrogant.

I haven't heard him slag Newcastle off other than complain about the weather - he's from the South of France - can you blame him.

It was a pleasure to watch him in a Toon shirt. The skip over G Neville in the 5-0 was brilliant as was the cross for Sir Les the 1st time I saw him at Burnden Park v Notlob.

Remember until we start winning things with monotonous regularity we ain't a big club - the one's he mentioned have or do.

Good grief Josh, I didn't think there was anybody else in the NE who has no illusions about where we are in the scheme of things

Oh Clarky - I`ve come over all funny!!!!!!!!! I think I would have died had I found myself sitting next to Daveeeeeeeeed!!!! Why is it that I bump into people from my nightmares when I`m travelling, instead of Daveeeeeeeeeed or Brad Pitt or Robert deNiro????? So unfair!!!!! (By the way, did you ever read the short novel I wrote for you to while away a wet Washington afternoon?)

Anyway, I know that every bloke in the whole world hates Daveeeeeed, but honest indians, Clarky, he truly is just about the sexiest man alive! Oh, my word, I`m drooling! I`ll never get the windows finished now!!!! By the way, which one of your thighs was next to his? If we ever meet, I will be mesmerized by it!!!! (:o)

Oh, and by the way - should you ever bump into him again, or Brad or Robert for that matter, could you swallow your pride, and get me one too!!!!!! (:o)

Galaxy, check your e-mail.....

Galaxy,

The seats were actually very close together, the sweet scent of his cologne kept drifting by, through the air currents, his right thigh occasionally brushing mine, a faint smile in acknowledgement. The stewardess passed by, he looked her up and down - discreetly, inscrutably. Daveeed slowly turned towards me, the amtosphere crackling with tension as he turned his head, casually sweeping back the long brown mane, gently whispering to me "she doesn't sweat much for a fat lass, does she?"

Roz, I'll even autograph the thigh that was next to Daveeds for you if you like. It certainly manages to keep me on my feet a damned sight better than his does!

Anyway, I get the message - next time.......

I did kick Wille McFaul out of my airline seat once .... don't suppose that's has the same impact though. Guess not.

No, I never saw that short novel - I'll have to check through the 'back issues' to see if I can find it.

Josh,

I certainly wouldn't disagree that Ginola was a joy to watch, and I certainly wish he was still playing in B&W.

I thought his attitude was very poor towards the end, but before Softie pulls me up short, I have to admit that I've vigorously defended AS for his poor attitude when RG shunned him - I guess Ginola's 'hump' was analogous, and therefore excusable.

My greatest memories of Daveeeed are the absolute skinning he gave Neil Cox of the Smoggies, and even better, his stupendous goal against Ferencvaros, when he flipped the ball up two or three times, leaving a couple of defenders totally bemused in the process, and then volleyed a curler into the top right hand corner - SHEER BRIILLIANCE.

I`ve only just seen your `she doesn`t sweat much for a fat lass` posting - you made me chuckle there Clarky! Brilliant!

Do you know, my life is full of weird coincidences - yesterday, Yelli called me back from the kitchen to look at a brilliant photo Steph had sent me of Daveeeeeeeeed. As I was climbing down from the bench (I wasn`t lying when I said I was cleaning windows!) what should issue from my radio - a glowing description of David Ginola! Spooky!

As for the novel I wrote for you, and I did only do it because you sounded fed up with the rain in Washington, it`s on the older threads, non-footie, under the heading of Tales of Mystery and Imagination! (:o)

Met Ginola in Japan and he was a very pleasant chap indeed. Like many of the lasses on here, wor lass is madly in love with him and when he said to us would anyone like a photograph wor lass just stood with her gob open staring in disbelief and no doubt a certain amount of lust. I gave her a gentle nudge forward and shouted aye she does Daveed and she now has a lovely photo of herself and DG with his arm round her and an expression on her face of the ultimate in terror you have ever seen. Don't even get her started on the one with Sir Les with no shirt on (LES that is)

As for Ginola the player. I reckon you got four good games out of him a season, usually in front of the TV cameras, but what a four games. I don't think that sort of consistency would have interested Barca ETC.

bake - oh no! Not another one with intimate knowledge of Daveeeeeed! I am beginning to feel deprived (or possibly depraved!) (:o)
