How to break 2gb limit? Best settings?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hello peeps, Im capturing using ati hardware and ativcr2 codec, 70mins capture=1.9gb, but avi is slightly pixelly and indistinguishable, i then encode using LSX mpeg1 and burn using NTI cd maker pro. I'd like to capture using other codecs to retain overall quality from the vhs source, i've tried using VirtualDub but cant set up the spill system, can someone give me a few pointers please, i only have one hard drive (udma66 17gb) without partitions. ANyone have the full working version of AVI I/O please. I was also reading some questions and answers concerning Panasonic vs LSX and i have to say that Panasonic is slow, slow, slow. It takes 6mins to encode a 1 minute avi to mpeg, whereas LSX takes about 2 minutes (P3 450, 128mb, Abit be6-1). Can someone also explain about the synch problems with Panasonic, is this problem aparent when using software players on pc?

Long winded question i know, but any help would be appreciated.

Using VDub with spill...

Set all of your capture settings as usual. Go to the spill settings, add 50,1900 and then edit the path to the drive you would like to capture.

Enable spill system, and capture.

Panosonic may be slow, but so LSX output is noticibly more blocky.

Good luck capturing
